Foundational Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga Classes in Powai
Yoga at Svādhyāya isn't about reaching for your toes. It’s about building a steady, honest connection with your own body through breath and movement.

About Foundational Flow & Practice
You will notice we use props like bolsters and blocks in every session. They are not just for beginners; they are tools to help you find your body's truest expression of a pose, regardless of your current flexibility. We want you to feel the stretch, not the strain, so we encourage you to use them to ground your practice.
Think of our foundational classes as a homecoming. We root ourselves in Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa lineages, not to chase the perfect pose, but to understand the architecture of our own bodies. Dekho, sometimes your hamstrings are tight or your back needs space, and that is exactly where the practice begins. We integrate props intelligently—whether it is a bolster for a forward fold or blocks to align your palms—to make sure you are moving safely and sustainably.
We are not a teacher factory. Even in our group sessions, you get personal attention and real-time adjustments. We focus on the 'in-between' moments—the breath, the stillness, and the honest effort—because that is where the real growth happens. This is about building a practice that lasts, from the first Surya Namaskar to the final, quiet moments of Savasana. Whether you are walking into your first class or looking to deepen your existing rhythm, we are here to support that process. We move, we breathe, and we grow together in our Powai shala.
Svādhyāya by Devyani
I'm Devyani, and I created Svādhyāya because I wanted a space that felt less like a studio and more like a second home. We focus on the 'in-between' moments—the breath, the stillness, and the honest effort—because that’s where the real magic happens. We’re here to practice, reflect, and evolve, together.
