A look into our space, where every breath is a chance to return to yourself. Whether you are finding your rhythm in Hatha, exploring sound through Nada Yoga, or simply looking to connect with a community that cheers for your progress, you are home here.

Here in our shala, you are never just a face in the crowd. This is what our practice looks like: a shared space where the energy of the group lifts you, while personal guidance from our teachers ensures your alignment and safety. We are here to help you find your strength in poses like Virabhadrasana II, the warrior pose.

We believe that healing happens on many levels. In our Nada Yoga teacher training, we explore the profound power of sound. Watch as our students learn to use singing bowls, not just as instruments, but as tools for deep meditation and cellular healing, guided by an expert in the field.

The journey to an advanced pose like Bhuja Vrischikasana, or scorpion in handstand, is built breath by breath. This is a moment of trust and triumph, showing how consistent practice and dedicated guidance help you find lightness and balance where you once felt limitation.

This is our tribe. We come together from different walks of life, united by the path of yoga. This photo from our International Yoga Day celebration captures the heart of our community, a space of shared growth, support, and collective energy.

"Shaky, right?" That shake is a sign of transformation. In this Naukasana or boat pose drill, we focus on building core stability with precise instruction. It’s not about perfection, but about embracing the effort and finding stillness within the challenge.

A class in unison, moving through Dhanurasana or bow pose. This moment captures the beautiful energy of a group practice, where each person is on their own journey, yet we all breathe and bend together, creating a powerful collective rhythm.

"Don't wait. Start today." We asked our students to share their stories, and their words are the truest reflection of our shala. Hear from Simran, a Chartered Accountant, on how she finds peace and consistency on the mat with us.

About Featured

Dekho, our shala in Powai is not a place where you just follow the person in front. Here, we actually look at you. We guide you through real physical adjustments, breath corrections, and modifications so you are not just moving, you are understanding your own body. If you want a practice that grows with you, this is where you begin.

The Svādhyāya Difference

We are not a teacher factory. At our Powai shala, the focus remains on the individual, even within our group Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa classes. We keep class sizes managed so that we can offer hands-on guidance, ensuring you find the right alignment for your body, not someone else's.

Our Core Practices

  • Hatha & Ashtanga Roots: This is the heart of our studio. We use props intelligently—blocks, straps, bolsters—to make the practice accessible whether you are brand new to the mat or working on advanced mobility.
  • Nada Yoga (Sound Healing): Beyond the physical, we offer sessions using Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls. It is a space to let go of the noise, heal through vibration, and find deep stillness.
  • Workshops & Immersions: We frequently host guest teachers for specialized deep dives into inversions, arm balances, and philosophy, giving you the tools to explore your edge.

A Community That Shows Up

Our tribe is built on consistency. We celebrate the 'shaky legs' in boat pose, the breakthrough of an inversion, and the collective energy of a room breathing in unison. Whether you are coming in for Prenatal Yoga, Teacher Training, or just to decompress after a long work week, you will find a space that feels like a homecoming. We encourage you to just show up, whether you want to or not. That is where the magic begins.

I started Svādhyāya because I wanted a space that felt like a homecoming, not just another studio. Here, it is all about self-reflection and meeting yourself on the mat, whether we are flowing through Hatha sequences or finding stillness in sound healing.
