Future of Living: Sustainable Residential Design
We rethink urban density by integrating computational design, modular systems, and lush vertical gardens to create residential ecosystems that connect people with nature.

About Future of Living: Sustainable Residential Design
We tackle the conflict between urban density and living quality by using voxel-based modular grids. This is not just about stacking units, but a computational process that ensures every residence maintains access to natural light, ventilation, and shared green corridors, regardless of the building height.
Our approach to sustainable residential design moves beyond static structures toward performance-driven living ecosystems. In projects like the Pixel Housing in Hyderabad, we deploy a Voxel grid system through iterative design. This allows us to optimize site density while preserving 70 percent of the peripheral area between units for light and air circulation. We treat architecture as a responsive organism.
Computational Precision for Human Comfort
We use parametric tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper to simulate environmental factors before a single brick is laid. By running solar radiation analysis and wind flow simulations, we determine the exact orientation of building forms to reduce energy consumption. This data-driven process informs our façade designs, turning sun-shading elements into distinct visual markers.
The Vertical Village Concept
Urban living often suffers from a disconnect between residents and the ground plane. Our Sky Gardens project attempts to resolve this by integrating vertical forests and communal farming spaces within the high-rise typology. This creates a vertical village where the luxury of a private garden meets the efficiency of a condominium.
Adaptive Planning
Flexibility is central to our residential philosophy. We design with transformable floor plans that allow residents to reconfigure their internal spaces as their needs change over time. By incorporating modular prefabricated components, we ensure high construction quality and reduced site waste, aligning with our commitment to the circular economy.
Studio Symbiosis
We are Amit and Britta, the founders behind Studio Symbiosis. We look at architecture as a living system where technology and nature intersect to solve real urban problems, from density to air quality.
