Pottery Workshops for Families and Special Occasions in Mumbai
Step away from the screen and into my studio in Govandi East. Whether it is a birthday, a family weekend, or just time to reconnect, let’s get our hands dirty and make something real together.
A father and daughter duo beaming with pride as they hold up the small clay figures they made together. These sessions are all about creating shared memories.
The playful spirit of a family workshop is perfectly captured here. A mother and daughter have fun showing off their handmade clay bears.
Pure joy and playfulness during a parent-child session. It is wonderful to see families connect and have fun while learning a new skill together.
My mother spontaneously decided to build a small temple for her studio during a session. It is a beautiful reminder that creativity can be a very personal and spiritual practice.
Here is my mother, deeply focused as she carves details into the clay temple she is building. The studio is a space for all generations to explore their artistic side.
The excitement of a young creator. This boy is thrilled with the clay piece he sculpted during one of our basic workshops for families.
A happy smile from a young potter holding his finished clay turtle. Our workshops for kids focus on fun, imagination, and the joy of making something with their own hands.
About Birthdays, Family Days & Special Occasions
Think of these sessions as a digital detox where the only thing that matters is the clay in front of you. My studio space in Govandi isn't a polished showroom; it is an industrial-chic spot that is real, well-ventilated, and completely open to the messiness of creating. We will spend about three hours together working with terracotta or stoneware, and yes—you will get messy, but you will also leave with something tangible that we will fire in the kiln for you to collect a few weeks later.
Why Choose Clay for Your Celebration?
In a world where everything is digital and fast, I have found that gathering to work with clay offers something rare: a chance to actually be present with each other. When you host a birthday or family day at Studio Karva, you aren't just doing an activity; you are creating a shared memory.
What You Can Expect
- No Experience Needed: I promise you do not need to be an artist. Most people who come here are total beginners, and that is exactly how it should be. The clay is forgiving, and I am here to guide you through the process.
- The Process: We will explore hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab work, and you will also get a chance to sit at the potter's wheel. It is tactile, it is grounding, and it is usually full of laughter.
- Firing and Collection: Because clay requires drying and bisque firing in the kiln, your finished pieces won't be ready to take home immediately. You can plan to pick them up 3 to 4 weeks after your event once they have gone through the firing cycle.
Logistics for Your Group
We can accommodate groups from 5 to 25 people comfortably. For kids' parties, we adjust the pace to keep the energy high and focus on fun, tactile projects like animals or nameplates. For adult groups, we lean into a more relaxed, conversational flow that works perfectly for reunions, birthdays, or family bonding. My studio in Govandi East is set up to provide an authentic, comfortable space where you can let go of the day's stress and just make something with your hands.
