Pottery Team Building & Corporate Workshops in Mumbai
Bring your team to Studio Karva for a session that moves away from screens and into the tactile, honest work of clay. Whether it is a corporate retreat or a group celebration, my studio offers a space to slow down, connect, and create something tangible together.
My private events are perfect for any group looking to connect and create. This image captures a typical session, with participants fully engaged in a hands-on pottery workshop.
I was so excited to host a private pottery workshop for the LSE Alumni Association. It is always an honor to create a space for groups to relax and explore their creativity with clay.
A participant from the Teach for India team building retreat proudly displays the textured pot she made. It is so rewarding to see the unique character each person brings to their creation.
Before the work begins, there is the simple act of feeling the clay. This close-up shows a participant connecting with the material at the start of a corporate team building session.
I had the pleasure of hosting a workshop for a group of visiting Latvian artists for a reality TV show. We welcomed them with garlands and guided them through a creative clay session in my new studio space.
A glimpse into one of my workshops, where I guide participants through hand-building techniques and offer one-on-one help at the potter's wheel. Observation and relaxation are key.
About Team Building & Corporate Retreats
When you bring your team to my studio in Govandi, expect a space that is raw, industrial, and deeply focused on the process. Since firing clay takes time, please designate one person from your team to coordinate the pickup of your finished pieces 3 to 4 weeks after the event. This allows us to handle the drying and kiln cycles properly without rushing the craft.
Why Pottery for Teams?
In a world where we spend most of our day behind screens, the simple, messy act of shaping clay brings people back to reality. My team building workshops are not about output or perfection. They are about the conversation that happens when everyone is working with their hands. I have hosted teams from corporate offices to academic associations, and the observation is always the same: when people are allowed to just play, barriers break down.
What to Expect
My studio is located in a quiet industrial estate, which provides the perfect backdrop for a digital detox. We keep the groups small (5 to 25 people) so I can offer genuine guidance rather than just herding people through an activity.
We focus on:
- Hand-building: Pinching, coiling, and slab work. This is where you see the unique personality of each person come through.
- Wheel Throwing: This is a test of patience and rhythm. It is often the highlight of the session.
Practical Details
- Duration: Usually 3 hours. We can tweak this depending on your group’s schedule.
- Experience: Zero experience is needed. If you can touch clay, you can make something.
- Firing: Every participant gets to fire 2 of their finished pieces. This requires a 3 to 4-week wait time for the clay to dry and go through the kiln cycle. I will notify your coordinator as soon as the work is ready for collection.
- Atmosphere: This is a working artist studio, not a banquet hall. It is well-ventilated, authentic, and intended for focused, creative work. Please dress comfortably, as you will get your hands dirty.
