Our Design Awards and Industry Features
We are honored to have our passion recognized by the architectural community. Here is a look at the awards and features that motivate us to keep pushing for thoughtful, sustainable design.
We are honored to receive the 'Trusted and Creative Architecture & Interior Design Firm of the Year 2023' award. This recognition is a testament to our team's dedication and the trust our clients place in us.
A proud moment for our studio, holding our awards for 'Firm of the Year 2023' and '40 under 40 Elite Trendsetter Architect & Designer'. First wins are always special, and we will cherish this day forever.
Receiving our award on stage at the 2023 Architecture & Interior Design Excellence Awards. We are grateful for the opportunity and the recognition from esteemed members of the architectural community.
Posing with our awards at the Global Edition 2023 event. These accolades inspire us to continue creating spaces that are both beautiful and meaningful for the people who inhabit them.
We were thrilled to have our Project 38 featured in the Nov/Dec 2022 edition of DE Magazine. This project, which focuses on a "less is more" philosophy, was a joy to design, and we are happy to see it shared with a wider audience.
About Studio Recognition
These accolades, including the 'Firm of the Year 2023', are meaningful to us because they confirm that our 'less is more' approach resonates with people. When we were recognized at the Architecture & Interior Design Excellence Awards, it wasn't just about the trophy; it was validation that prioritizing the user's daily experience over fleeting trends is the right path.
Receiving recognition for our work is a proud milestone, but we treat these awards as encouragement rather than a final destination. Whether it is our project featured in DE Magazine or being named '40 under 40 Elite Trendsetter Architect & Designer', each milestone reminds us of the long hours spent with skilled craftspeople to get every detail right.
Our design philosophy is rooted in the idea that a home should breathe. We focus on natural light, cross-ventilation, and sustainable material selection—concepts that were highlighted during our feature of 'Project 38'. In that apartment, we stripped back the unnecessary to create a space that felt open and peaceful despite its urban location. This commitment to minimalist home design and vernacular-inspired architecture is what we bring to every project, whether it is a modern villa or a compact apartment renovation.
We continue to refine our process, from initial pencil sketches to the final installation of magnetic tracks and custom metalwork. These awards are a testament to the trust our clients place in us, allowing us to experiment with climate-friendly layouts and traditional materials like Athangudi tiles and local bricks. We look forward to applying this same energy and rigour to your next project.
Studio Wight
Hi, we are Ambica and Jhashank. We started Studio Wight because we wanted to tell stories through spaces, not just build walls. It has been an incredible journey from our first sketches to receiving these awards, and we are just getting started on the next project.
