Award-Winning Architecture and Interior Projects
We are grateful to have our design philosophy recognized by peers and leading publications. These projects represent our commitment to meaningful, context-sensitive architecture.
We were thrilled to see our Split House project featured on the cover of Design Essentia magazine. It is always an honor to have our work recognized and shared with a wider audience.
A glimpse inside our feature in Design Essentia magazine, where we discuss our studio's design philosophy. We believe good design is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
An excerpt from our interview with Design Essentia, where we share our ideology for designing a perfect residence. For us, a house becomes a home when it responds to the everyday life of its residents, offering comfort, a sense of belonging, and timeless appeal.
In our Design Essentia feature, we explained the design inception of The Split House. The concept grew from a simple, practical need to preserve a large tree on the site, which led to the creation of the 'split' skylight that now defines the entire home.
We are honored to share that our Notan Home project was longlisted for The Merit List, a platform that recognizes excellence in Indian architecture. This image shows the living area, where a geometric skylight creates a dramatic play of light.
Another view of the award-recognized Notan Home, showcasing the central courtyard with its indoor pool and frangipani tree. This space is the heart of the home, bringing nature and light into the interior.
Our project, 'House Above The Tree', was also recognized by The Merit List. This image captures the serene atmosphere of the stair-lounge, a favorite spot for the family's Saint Bernard.
About this collection
Beyond the trophies, these accolades validate our approach to context-sensitive architecture. Whether it is the split skylight in The Split House that preserved an existing tree or the brick jaalis of An Earthy Affair, every recognized detail was driven by specific site constraints, not aesthetic trends. When you work with us, you are not paying for a look. You are investing in a design logic that actually functions.
Architecture is, at its core, a conversation between the site and the people who inhabit it. When we receive recognition from institutions like the IIID or platforms like The Merit List, it is not because we chased a trend. It is because we solved a problem.
Why Our Work Gets Recognized
Recognition follows when a design feels inevitable. In our project 'The Split House,' the design grew entirely from the client's desire to keep an existing tree. By splitting the roof to let light in, we created a feature that feels intentional rather than added on. Similarly, with 'An Earthy Affair,' the focus on exposed brick and natural light was a direct response to the local climate.
We believe good design is not about having nothing left to add; it is about reaching a point where every element serves a purpose. Our awarded projects share a few common traits:
- Daylight-Driven: We prioritize natural light as a primary building material, often using skylights and courtyards to illuminate spaces.
- Context-Sensitive: We listen to the local ooru and climate, integrating elements like brick jaalis, open-to-sky gardens, and green landscapes.
- Material Honesty: We prefer an earthy palette—brick, concrete, and wood—that ages with grace.
What This Means for Your Project
Whether we are designing a private villa or a commercial office space, we apply this same rigorous process. We start with site analysis, move to 3D visualization, and coordinate everything from MEP drawings to material selection. You do not get a 'signature' style that looks the same everywhere. You get a design that is specific to your land, your budget, and the way you live.
Collage Architecture Studio
We are a team that believes architecture should be quiet, intentional, and tied to the earth. We do not chase awards; we chase solutions that make a house feel like it has always belonged on its plot. When we collaborate with you, we bring that same rigorous, honest attention to your home or office.
