The Art of Detail: Custom Home Craftsmanship
We believe luxury is found in the smallest details. From the texture of a material to the precision of a join, we bring artistry into every corner of your home.
This 'Tree of Life' metal art installation is the soul of the villa. Stretching across a double-height wall under a skylight, its branches cast shifting shadows, while a single golden bird symbolizes the journey of life and our connection to nature.
This foyer mural is a collaboration celebrating local craftsmanship. Inspired by the client's family history in weaving, this Kalamkari-style painting tells a story on the wall, turning a simple entrance into a spectacular and personal art piece.
A tour of a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom where every detail is considered. The wardrobe features blue leather panels, oak cabinetry, and brass handles, while the bathroom uses bold black marble and a pop of red glazed tile for a dramatic effect.
A showcase of our detail work, combining marble, veneer, and brass elements. This video highlights how we use geometric brass inlays on cabinetry and custom handles to create a sophisticated and luxurious feel in our interior projects.
Textures tell the story. This video gives a close-up look at the materials used in one of our bedroom projects, including fluted marble, PU rock panels, and textured laminates, showing how a few carefully chosen materials can create depth and elegance.
The main door is the first handshake of a home. Here, we combined a calming sage green with a central stripe of white marble and a solid wood handle, creating an entrance that is modern, natural, and welcoming.
A different perspective of the sage green and marble door, viewed through a structural metal frame. This composition of layers, textures, and indoor plants is a small example of how we approach creating visually interesting spaces.
A look at the soul of vernacular architecture in our Nalukettu House project. We use authentic materials like colorful Athangudi tiles, sturdy Sadarahalli stone flooring, and intricately carved Chettinad stone pillars to honor tradition and craftsmanship.
About The Art of Detail & Craftsmanship
When we design your home, we focus on the transition between materials like brass, marble, and wood. You are not just choosing finishes; you are deciding how a space feels throughout the day. We guide you to select a few core materials to ensure your home feels cohesive rather than cluttered, with a focus on function that genuinely simplifies your daily life.
True luxury is rarely about adding more. It is about the discipline of restraint. When we work on a project, our goal is to help you identify two or three core elements—whether it's the warmth of oak, the coolness of marble, or the structural beauty of mild steel—and let those materials tell the story of your home.
This approach requires deep collaboration. We work closely with our network of local artisans who understand that a joint must be tight and a surface must be tactile. Whether it's the intricate inlay of a brass handle on a wardrobe, the specific carving on a wooden pillar, or the integration of a mural into a foyer, these moments are where a house becomes a sanctuary.
We often handle the technical side so you do not have to worry about the messy parts of construction. This includes:
- Material Selection: Choosing finishes that age well and feel good to touch, from PU rock panels to fluted marble.
- Structural Integration: Designing features like skylights or cantilevered staircases that look effortless but are engineered for precision.
- Artisan Collaboration: Coordinating with painters, carpenters, and metalworkers to ensure the vision from our initial sketches is fully realized on-site.
We are here to help you move away from trends that fade and toward a home that reflects your specific story, built with techniques that stand the test of time.
Studio Wight
We are Ambica and Jhashank. For us, a space is only complete when the details—the handle, the grain of the veneer, the light hitting a curve—feel just right. We work side-by-side with local artisans to make sure every finish is as intentional as it is beautiful.
