About this collection
We don’t chase awards for their own sake. When our project, 'House of Greens,' was recognized by the ICI-UltraTech and CWAB awards, it felt like a validation of our specific approach to biophilic design—using exposed concrete and sustainable materials to create breathable, nature-connected homes in Bengaluru. These accolades are less about the trophy and more about confirming that prioritizing structural integrity, passive cooling, and local craftsmanship creates better living spaces for our clients.
Architecture is an exercise in balancing art with economy. Many of the projects featured here, such as the 'Brick Weave House' or 'House of Greens,' were born from a desire to address the specific climatic and social challenges of Namma Bengaluru. When the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI-UltraTech) or Construction World (CWAB) juries recognize our work, they are usually highlighting how we solved a complex problem.
For instance, in 'House of Greens,' we had to navigate a tight budget while fulfilling a client's wish for a green, airy sanctuary. By using reinforced concrete as a muted structural element and incorporating large cantilevers for planter boxes, we achieved the desired aesthetic without inflating costs. Being shortlisted for The Plan Award in Italy was another significant moment, as it showed that our locally rooted design principles—like using exposed wire-cut bricks and internal courtyards—have a global relevance.
These awards are not solitary achievements. They belong to the structural engineers, the civil teams on-site, and the clients who were brave enough to trust our process of sketching, questioning, and prototyping. We view every recognition as an invitation to continue refining our craft, ensuring that the spaces we design remain true to the environment and the people living within them. If you are looking to build a home that prioritizes nature and thoughtful construction, we would be happy to discuss how these principles can be applied to your project.
