A look at our functional tableware collections—where everyday rituals meet the discipline of clay. Discover pieces from our Cobalt Blue, Metallic Verse, and Flamingo series, all made in our Byculla studio.

The Cobalt Blue edition in use. This video shows how these 110ml stoneware cups and coasters fit perfectly into a quiet morning coffee ritual. The deep blue glaze provides a vibrant contrast against the dark liquid.

A close-up of the Cobalt Blue cup, showing the subtle texture and the dark, earthy rim where the glaze thins. These small imperfections are the marks of a handmade object and give each piece its own character.

A slow pan across the Cobalt Blue cup and coaster set. Notice how the light catches the surface, highlighting the rich color and simple, elegant form. These are designed to be both beautiful and functional.

The feeling of a handmade cup in your hand is something special. This image shows the scale of the Cobalt Blue cup, perfect for a small, strong coffee or tea. The circular handle is designed for a comfortable grip.

Turning the Cobalt Blue cup to show its form and the deep, rich glaze inside and out. This piece is made from durable stoneware, making it suitable for everyday use.

The Metallic Verse mug and plate set from my Shibui Collection. The contrast between the natural ivory rim and the deep bronze metallic glaze creates a dramatic effect, especially against the evening light.

Another view of the Metallic Verse set. The organically shaped plate complements the sturdy form of the mug. This set is ideal for serving a warm drink with a small snack.

This video showcases the details of the Metallic Verse mugs. The textured surface of the bronze glaze is a result of its unique chemical composition and the firing process. Each mug holds approximately 240-250ml.

A still life of the Metallic Verse mug and plate. The play of light and shadow on the table highlights the handmade quality and the "intentional imperfections" that make each piece unique.

About Inspiration: Our Studio Tableware Collections

Every piece you see here is thrown by hand, which means you will notice subtle variations in the glaze, weight, and form—these are not defects, but the signatures of the firing process. When you hold these mugs, you get a tactile experience that mass-produced ceramics simply cannot replicate. They are designed to be used, not just displayed.

Our tableware follows the principle of Shibui—a Japanese aesthetic that values simplicity, modesty, and the beauty of imperfection. This philosophy guides every stage, from selecting the stoneware clay bodies that provide heat retention and durability to testing glazes that react differently depending on their position in the kiln.

Why Handcrafted Stoneware?

Unlike mass-manufactured items, our stoneware is fired at high temperatures (1200°C+), making it dense and non-porous. This means your mug won't absorb liquids or flavors, making it ideal for daily coffee or tea rituals.

Our Collections

  • Cobalt Blue: A study in depth. This glaze reacts with the iron in the clay body to create rich, varied tones ranging from deep midnight to subtle green highlights.
  • Metallic Verse: These pieces focus on texture. The bronze metallic glaze interacts with the ivory base to produce a stark, dramatic contrast that catches the light differently at different angles.
  • Flamingo: Our most playful series, using high-contrast slips to create bold patterns.

Care & Use

Because these are handmade stoneware items, treat them with the same care you would any valued object. They are dishwasher safe, though hand washing with a mild detergent preserves the integrity of the glaze and prevents chipping over time. Avoid extreme thermal shock—don't take a mug directly from the freezer to boiling water.
