About Community & Cultural Events
We built Studio White & Gray to be more than just a pottery studio. For us, pottery is 'riyaaz' (dedicated practice), and the studio is a place where everyone can find their own style, but not alone. Our space is a community hub - artists, students, and anyone curious about clay come together, share stories, and grow.
Learn from the Masters
I remember hearing, 'हमारे टाइम में तो मिलता ही नहीं था' (in our time, we didn't get these things). So, we host pottery demonstration events with artists from India and abroad. These aren't stiff lectures - you get to watch masters at work, ask questions, and chat over chai. We cover everything from glaze chemistry to kiln design, even traditional Japanese firing.
Culture & Celebration
Our connection to clay goes deep. We celebrate it through music, like Ghatam music nights, where the clay pot becomes a percussion instrument. We also turn the studio into a gallery for ceramic art exhibitions, showing pottery as high art with real stories.
Studio Family Moments
Ganesh Chaturthi is our biggest celebration. We run eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi workshops, make idols from studio clay, and do puja and aarti together. The visarjan (immersion) happens right here, returning clay to water. We also host Christmas barbecues and anniversary parties - always about connecting and making memories.
Open Doors
Our studio is for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just want to try something new, you’ll find a place here.

My Story
Hi, Sandeep here. When I started pottery, good clay and tools were tough to find. Students kept asking, 'Where do we get stuff?' No clue. Old timers would say, 'हमारे टाइम में तो मिलता ही नहीं था, आप लोग तो बहुत लकी हैं.' (Back then, nothing was available, you folks are lucky.) So I thought, why not me? Studio White & Gray began to build a space for potters in Mumbai. Pottery’s my riyaaz, a discipline. The studio’s a spot for all – to learn, make, and connect. It’s not just clay, it’s finding yourself.
