Pilates for Rehabilitation, Pre-natal, and Seniors
Pilates isn't one-size-fits-all. Whether you are recovering from an injury, navigating pregnancy, or looking for low-impact movement as you age, we tailor the session to your body’s specific needs.
Pilates was originally developed by a man, for men. This video explains why it's so beneficial for them, helping to build deep core strength, improve flexibility, and prevent injuries.
We offer specialized Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Pilates to provide strength for every stage of motherhood. Our programs are designed to support your body as it changes.
Pilates is ideal for our geriatric members. The low-impact, controlled exercises are perfect for seniors, promoting well-being while minimizing strain on joints.
Pilates is rehab. Its focus on core strength, flexibility, and balance with precise, low-impact movements makes it an incredibly effective approach to rehabilitation.
Do you have a desk job? Pilates can help combat the effects of sitting all day by improving posture, easing back pain, and building core strength.
Pilates is something every athlete needs. It builds functional strength and balance while preventing injuries, helping to enhance overall athletic performance.
Still think Pilates is just for women? This video breaks down the myth and explains how Pilates helps men build real, functional strength with awareness and control.
Prenatal Pilates focuses on core strength, pelvic floor health, and improved posture to ease pregnancy aches and prepare the body for delivery.
Postnatal Pilates is designed to help you safely regain core strength, improve pelvic floor health, and restore proper alignment after delivery.
Pilates can be incredibly beneficial for individuals with Parkinson's. It helps improve balance, mobility, and muscle strength while promoting better posture and coordination.
About Pilates for Your Unique Needs
When you walk into my studio for rehab or specific support, we don't just jump into exercises. I start by assessing your movement patterns and pain points, whether it is a slip disc, sciatica, or general stiffness. You get a plan that respects where your body is today, using specialized equipment like the Cadillac or reformer to provide extra support and help you move safely toward recovery.
How We Approach Specific Needs
I believe movement should be intelligent, not just intense. My goal is to help you build strength from the inside out, regardless of your starting point. Here is how I adapt my methods for you:
-
Injury Rehab: If you are dealing with chronic pain, slip discs, or sciatica, we focus on spinal articulation and deep core activation. I use the Cadillac and tower apparatus to provide resistance while keeping your spine safe and supported. My aim is to help you function better in daily life, not just in the studio.
-
Pre-Natal & Post-Natal: Pregnancy changes your body’s center of gravity. My sessions focus on pelvic floor health, core stability, and breathing techniques to support you through every trimester. After delivery, we work on restoring your alignment and rebuilding the strength you need to carry your baby without back or neck pain.
-
Seniors & Geriatric Wellness: For my older clients, the priority is independence. We focus on balance, fall prevention, and maintaining range of motion in the hips and shoulders. It is all about low-impact movement that keeps your joints healthy without unnecessary strain.
-
Pilates for Men: I often hear men say they aren't 'flexible enough' for Pilates. That is exactly why you should try it. We use the reformer to build functional strength, correct imbalances from sports or weightlifting, and improve mobility. It is not just about stretching; it is about building the kind of core power that protects you from injury.
-
Desk Workers: If you spend your day at a computer, you likely have tight hips and a rounded upper back. We target those exact areas to release tension, helping you stand taller and feel less drained by the end of the day.
You are not just a list of symptoms here; you are part of our SRA family. We take the time to correct your form, and we never expect you to force a movement if your body isn't ready. As I always say, it is not about being perfect—it is about showing up and doing what you can.
