About Outdoor Play & Physical Wellness
At Siksha, physical play is never just a break from learning. Whether it is guided yoga sessions on our terrace or unstructured time in the sandpit, every activity is designed to help children develop gross motor skills, body awareness, and emotional regulation. We carefully manage our outdoor time, creating a space where children can test their physical limits and interact with peers in a safe, controlled environment, rather than letting them run aimlessly.
Why Physical Wellness Matters
In our Montessori environment, we view the body as the first tool a child masters. Intellectual growth in the early years is deeply linked to physical control and coordination. By incorporating dedicated movement sessions, we help children transition from the clumsy movements of early toddlerhood to purposeful, graceful activity.
Our Approach to Movement
- Daily Yoga: We introduce simple asanas to help children improve their flexibility, balance, and focus. Yoga is not just exercise here; it is a time to calm the mind and connect with the breath.
- Sandpit & Free Play: Our dedicated terrace play area features artificial turf for safe, high-energy exploration. The sandpit serves as a sensory-rich environment where children test their strength, dig, build, and cooperate with their peers.
- Gross Motor Development: From balancing on beams to learning spatial awareness in the classroom, we ensure children are constantly engaging their muscles. We believe that physical confidence directly translates to confidence in the classroom.
Environment for Growth
Located in BTM Layout and S.G. Palya, our centers are converted residential spaces that prioritize safety, cleanliness, and ventilation. We keep class sizes small, with a strict student-teacher ratio between 1:12 and 1:15. This ensures that when children are outdoors or practicing yoga, they receive the individual guidance needed to stay safe. Whether it is a structured lesson or free play, the goal remains the same: helping your child feel strong, capable, and at home in their own body.
