We believe movement is essential for a growing child. Our daily yoga and physical activities help children develop balance, focus, and a healthy connection with their bodies within our calm Montessori environment.

About this collection

We don't treat yoga as a separate class or a strict athletic drill. For us, it is a rhythmic part of our daily routine that helps children settle their minds and bodies. You will notice how the children, even from a young age, learn to independently unroll their mats, find their own space, and focus on their breath alongside their teachers as a natural transition between their Montessori work cycles.

In our Montessori classroom in Banaswadi, movement is just as important as reading or math. We recognize that children explore the world through their bodies, and our yoga sessions are designed to channel that energy into focus and coordination.

Why Movement Matters

Instead of structured sports drills, we focus on mindful movement. Our children learn to navigate the floor mat with intention, practice standing poses like the tree pose for balance, and explore floor postures like the cobra or bow pose to build flexibility. These are not about achieving a perfect posture, but about giving the child a chance to build body awareness and physical confidence.

Our Approach to Yoga

  • Child-Led Pace: We follow the Montessori principle of letting the child choose and engage at their own speed.
  • Community Bonding: Teachers participate right alongside the children, which removes the hierarchy of instruction and builds a sense of shared practice.
  • Integration: Whether it is International Yoga Day or a regular Tuesday, we use these moments to help children find a sense of calm after high-energy play.

Our environment—a residential conversion with red oxide floors and wooden shelves—provides the quiet, grounded space needed for this kind of practice. By the time they finish their morning yoga, the children are often more centered and ready to engage with their practical life or arithmetic materials. It is a vital part of our holistic approach to growth.
