Wellness, Movement & Sports Programs at Prayag Montessori
We believe a healthy mind starts with a healthy body. Through yoga, sports, and structured movement, we help our children build the strength, balance, and coordination they need for lifelong confidence.

About this collection
Physical activity here isn't just about playtime; it is a deliberate part of our daily Montessori-inspired rhythm. Whether your child is navigating an obstacle course in Padmanabhanagar or finding their balance in a yoga session at our Jayanagar branch, they are developing critical gross motor skills that go far beyond the sports field. These sessions are designed to help children channel their energy effectively and improve focus for their academic learning.
Building Foundations Through Movement
We know that children learn with their whole bodies. In our 'prepared environment', movement is not a distraction from learning; it is the engine of it. We integrate physical wellness across all our campuses, ensuring that students get the daily movement they need to stay regulated and engaged.
How We Approach Physical Wellness
- Yoga & Mindfulness: We introduce yoga poses that help children learn control, flexibility, and breathing. It is not about perfect posture, but about the connection between body and mind.
- Gross Motor Skills: Our obstacle courses and parachute games are designed to challenge children, helping them improve balance, coordination, and their spatial awareness.
- Sports & Teamwork: During our annual sports events, we focus on participation and effort. Every child finds their rhythm, whether they are running, jumping, or balancing, and they learn the joy of moving alongside their peers.
Why It Matters
Our goal is to create students who are physically confident. By integrating these activities into our CBSE and Montessori hybrid program, we ensure that children aren't just sitting behind desks all day. They are learning to navigate their space, solve physical problems on the playground, and understand their own capabilities. We find that after a good session of gross motor activity, our students are much more receptive to focused, quiet work in the classroom.
Prayag Montessori
At Prayag, we don't just stand on the sidelines. We get down on the floor, participate in the yoga poses, and cheer the loudest during sports day races because we believe physical movement is fundamental to child development. We have seen firsthand how a little bit of yoga or an obstacle course gives our students the focus they need for their academic work later in the day.
