A look inside our yoga class experience
Welcome to a space where your practice comes first. Here is what it feels like to step onto the mat with our community in GK-1 or online.
Here is a look inside our yoga classes. You will see students moving together, finding focus in meditation, and supporting one another. My goal is to offer a holistic approach to well being, improving flexibility, strength, and mental clarity for everyone.
Here, students practice Gomukhasana, or Cow Faced Pose, alongside me. This deep stretch for the shoulders and hips is a great example of how we work on flexibility. My classes are open to everyone, whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi.
Restorative yoga is a key part of our practice. Here, students use the wall and cushions for Viparita Karani, or Legs Up the Wall Pose. This gentle inversion is incredibly calming for the nervous system and helps relieve tired legs and feet.
A student practices Matsyasana, or Fish Pose, in a variation with legs in Padmasana (Lotus Pose). This heart opening pose is excellent for improving posture and releasing tension in the neck and shoulders.
About Our Class Experience
I keep my batches intentionally small so that I can provide real-time verbal adjustments to your form. Whether you are joining from home via Zoom or stepping into the shala in GK-1, you get the same level of personal attention—no getting lost in a crowd or following a generic video feed.
My approach is different from the typical gym workout. When you join a session, whether it is Hatha, Vinyasa, or a restorative flow, we do not just focus on sweat. We focus on technique. I integrate principles from BKS Iyengar’s teachings, which means we often use props like chairs, belts, or cushions to ensure your body is in the right alignment. This is critical for students dealing with chronic back pain or stiff shoulders.
How Our Classes Work
- Small Batches, Real Corrections: You are not just a number. During our live Zoom sessions, I actively monitor your video feed to offer adjustments. It is about learning the 'how' and 'why' of a pose, not just imitating a shape.
- Flexibility in Scheduling: You can switch between our morning (6:45 AM, 8:00 AM) and evening (6:00 PM) slots from Monday to Friday. Life gets busy, and I want you to maintain consistency without the stress of missing out.
- Beyond Asanas: We dedicate time in every 60-minute session to Pranayama (breathwork) and meditation. This helps in calming the nervous system, which is just as important for your long-term health as physical flexibility.
Can I Join If I Am A Beginner?
Yes, absolutely. My classes are structured to accommodate everyone from age 18 to 80. If you cannot touch your toes, that is exactly where we start. I break down every movement step by step, ensuring you feel safe and supported. We avoid complex inversions that might cause injury and focus on sustainable, mindful movement that builds strength over time. If you have any specific health history or injuries, let me know before we begin so I can guide you through the right modifications.
