Dynamic Yoga Flows & Strength Training in GK-1
Forget the gym rush. Build real strength, improve your flexibility, and boost your metabolism with mindful flow sessions. These classes are designed to challenge your body at your own pace.
Surya Namaskar, or the Sun Salutation, is a complete practice in itself. This sequence of poses strengthens the back, balances metabolism, and vitalizes the body's solar energy. In this video, I demonstrate the flow and explain its deep benefits for all systems of the body.
If you are looking to manage your weight, yoga offers a powerful and sustainable path. My dynamic yoga sessions are designed as fat burning flows that build muscle, improve flexibility, and help you reach your fitness goals with personalized guidance.
This is the first of a five part series exploring variations of Surya Namaskar. In this flow, we incorporate a deep squat, or Malasana, to build strength in the legs and hips while moving through the classic sun salutation sequence.
In our second variation of Surya Namaskar, we focus on building back strength. This sequence includes holding the body on the ground before lifting the chest without pressing the palms, an exercise that activates the posterior chain muscles.
For our third Surya Namaskar variation, we add a balance challenge. By keeping the heels lifted in a deep squat, we engage the core and improve our stability and focus as we flow through the Tadasana and high plank transitions.
This is a glimpse into our Sunrise Strength & Flow class. We focus on energizing sequences that awaken the body and mind, incorporating poses like Balancing Table Top and variations of Chaturanga to build core strength and stability.
Students in our Sunrise Strength & Flow class practice Parivrtta Utkatasana, or Revolved Chair Pose. This twisting pose is excellent for detoxifying the body, strengthening the core and legs, and building focus first thing in the morning.
About Dynamic Flows: Strength & Weight Management
You might think dynamic flows are just about speed, but here, it’s about technique first. In our sessions, I’ll personally help you adjust your Surya Namaskar or Chaturanga, ensuring your alignment is safe and effective whether you are joining from our GK-1 studio or logging in from home.
Dynamic yoga isn't just about moving fast—it's about building heat and strength with intention. In my sessions, we focus on functional movement patterns that help you lose weight and tone up without the exhaustion associated with typical high-intensity gym workouts. Whether we are practicing a Sunrise Strength & Flow session or refining a specific Surya Namaskar variation, the goal is always the same: sustainable, mindful progress.
Why these flows are different
Unlike a standard workout, these sessions integrate pranayama and breath control directly into the movement. This keeps your heart rate in a steady, fat-burning zone while calming the nervous system.
- Technique over speed: We prioritize getting the pose right. If you are struggling with a transition, I will pause the flow to guide you, not just tell you to keep moving.
- Small batch focus: I limit the number of students in both online and in-studio classes to ensure that you get real-time form correction. You are not just following a video; you are getting a teacher.
- Built for your goals: From core-strengthening poses to deep squats that build leg stability, the sequences are structured to help you overcome common issues like back pain or stiffness while you build strength.
We welcome everyone, from beginners who can't touch their toes to those returning to the mat. You don't need fancy equipment—just a mat and the willingness to show up for yourself.
