The Tagda Raho Philosophy: Strength from Within
My world of movement, where we build strength with traditional Indian tools and modern grit, one step at a time.
This is the feeling of being 'Tagda' or strong. It's more than just physical power; it's a fearless state of mind where you face your weaknesses and turn them into strengths. This is the energy I bring to our training, combining traditional Indian club swinging with modern functional fitness like rope climbs.
The journey to strength isn't always glamorous. It's about showing up on the days you have zero motivation, because that's where character is built. I started this path after an injury, seeking purpose, and found that discipline is the highest form of self-love.
I see movement as a symphony where the mind and muscle work in perfect harmony. Using traditional Indian mudgars, we build a powerful mind-muscle connection that is both liberating and strengthening. This is about creating a rhythm your body loves to dance to.
For all the women out there, let's clear this up: lifting weights and eating enough protein will not make you bulky. It will help you build lean, strong muscle and feel more confident and powerful in your own skin. I'm here to guide you on how to train and eat smart for your goals.
Feeling intimidated by the heavy gadas and mudgars? Don't be. We always start with the basics, using weights as light as 1.8 kgs to perfect your form and build foundational strength. My coaching is a full body workout, and I'll guide you every step of the way.
It was an absolute honor to coach the legendary Jonty Rhodes. Sharing the principles of traditional Indian strength training with such a humble and dedicated athlete was a dream come true. It's moments like these that fill my heart with gratitude for this journey.
One of the biggest reasons I work out is for my mental health. Every single time I finish a session, I feel calmer and my mood is elevated. On days when motivation is low, remembering this feeling is what gets me to show up for myself.
About this collection
I don't believe in quick fixes or chasing numbers on a scale. Whether we're working through the rhythmic swings of a wooden Gada or drilling Hyrox transition techniques, the goal is training your nervous system to handle pressure. We always start with lighter weights, sometimes as low as 1.8kg, to master your form before adding power. This way, you build strength that stays with you, rather than just burning out.
Fitness is rarely about what you see in the mirror. It is about what happens in your mind when you are under tension. At Tagda Raho, I combine the ancient wisdom of Indian strength training with modern endurance protocols to help you build resilience that translates to your daily life.
Why Indian Functional Training?
Traditional tools like the Gada (mace) and Mudgar (clubs) require a specific symphony of focus and rotational strength that standard gym machines cannot replicate. They force your body to work as a single, coordinated unit. Using this gear builds deep stability in your shoulders and core, which is essential for preventing injury and improving real-world movement.
Hyrox and Athletic Conditioning
If you are training for a Hyrox race or simply want to improve your stamina, we focus on mechanics first. We break down the technical side of sled pushes, burpee broad jumps, and ergometer rowing to maximize your output while minimizing energy waste. I teach you how to manage your breathing and mindset so that you don't just survive the workout, but actually own it.
A Space for Everyone
I operate out of the Tagda Raho studio in Sivanchetti Gardens and Chakra Athletica in Domlur. My sessions are judgment-free zones. Whether you are a complete beginner who needs to start with foundational bodyweight moves like dand (push-ups) and baithak (squats), or an athlete looking to refine your race pacing, we start where you are. We are not here to compare; we are here to celebrate small wins and build a version of yourself that is capable, confident, and, most importantly, tagda (strong).
