The Ashtanga Yoga Practice
Honoring the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa system through breath and alignment. A space to practice at your own rhythm, guided by tradition.
As an Authorised Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, I have learned that postures are tools, not trophies. This L-shaped headstand is a reminder to look at life from different angles. The real goal is not the pose itself, but the conscious growth and perspective we gain along the way.
Demonstrating Parsvottanasana, a pose from the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. This practice is a moving meditation that links breath with movement, creating strength and flexibility in both body and mind.
Moving through the Prasarita Padottanasana sequence, A, B, C, and D, from the Ashtanga Primary Series. Each movement is synchronized with the breath, creating a powerful and focused flow.
Yoga offers a path to physical wellness and mental resilience. Through the consistent practice of breath, movement, and mindfulness, we can cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves and better handle life's challenges.
If yoga helps you grow into a better human, do it with shraddha, or wholehearted faith. If it does not, find what does. Your path is yours to walk, guided by your inner voice.
Discovering inner ease amidst the chaos through the practice of pranayama, or breathwork. This is a fundamental part of yoga that helps calm the nervous system and focus the mind.
Yoga goes beyond poses, it is about becoming a better human. Through introspection and self love, the practice teaches us patience and compassion. I am always curious to hear how yoga has helped others on their journey.
To find the perfect workout for you, observe your energy levels. If you feel energized, you have nailed it. If you are tired, it might be time to change your routine. Here I am demonstrating different forms of movement, from a headstand to a dynamic standing pose.
About The Ashtanga Yoga Practice
In my online Mysore-style classes, you do not just follow a pre-recorded video. You practice at your own pace while I observe you on camera, providing real-time corrections for your alignment and breathing. Whether you are struggling to reach your toes or working on a challenging headstand, you receive individual guidance just as if you were in a physical shala.
Traditional Ashtanga is not about rushing through poses. It is a lineage based on 'parampara' (tradition), passed from teacher to student. I teach this system because it creates independence. Once you learn the sequence, you own the practice, and it becomes a steady anchor in your day.
How Online Mysore Works
We practice together 5 to 6 days a week, keeping the traditional rest days on Amavasya and Purnima. Because I keep my groups small, I can see every student on my screen. I provide verbal adjustments for your Drishti (gaze) and Ujjayi breath, ensuring you are safe and aligned. This is not a generic fitness class. It is a disciplined, step-by-step approach to building strength and flexibility.
Beyond the Asana
My teaching does not stop when you roll up your mat. We discuss how to apply these teachings to your corporate life and daily struggles. We talk about the Yoga Sutras, practice Pranayama to manage city stress, and share plant-based nutrition tips to help you feel lighter and more energetic. If you are looking for a community that values deep, consistent growth over quick fixes, you are in the right place.
If this style helps you grow into a better human, do it with shraddha. If it does not, find what does. Your path is yours to walk, and it is theek hai if you need to take it slow.
