My Journey and Life Off the Mat
Yoga is not just the hours you spend on the mat. For me, it is about the morning chai, the quiet moments in nature, and finding balance in the chaos of everyday life.
Wrapped in tradition, flowing in mindfulness. Taking yoga from Mumbai to the world, I carry my roots with grace. This saree is a beautiful reminder of my Indian heritage.
The practice truly begins after you roll up your mat and walk back into your life. For me, that often means a quiet walk in the woods, accompanied by my furry friends. This is where the principles of yoga, patience and awareness, come to life.
A moment of peace, holding flowers as an offering. This image captures the gentle, devotional side of my practice and my connection to the traditions of yoga.
Embracing balance and moderation. This little meme is a playful reminder that even as an Ashtanga practitioner, it is okay to enjoy food and life. It is not about perfection, it is about joy.
I never grew up in classrooms, the world was my teacher. It shaped how I see, feel, and live. As a yoga teacher, I carry that same sense of freedom in everything I do.
A moment borrowed by the lens. This is a simple portrait from a photoshoot, capturing a quiet moment of stillness in front of the camera.
My vegan masala chai, enjoyed on the farm with some four legged friends. Simple moments like these, connecting with animals and nature, are what make life so rich.
About My Journey & Musings
Yoga is not just about the hour you spend on your mat. My teaching approach focuses on integrating that stillness into your actual day, whether you are dealing with a packed work schedule or just looking to simplify your habits. When you train with me, we look at the whole picture, from your morning rituals to how you manage stress, so your practice actually helps you in real life.
Living Yoga, Daily
For me, the practice begins the moment you roll up your mat. This cluster page is a glimpse into how I apply the principles of Ashtanga Yoga—patience, awareness, and shraddha (faith)—to my life beyond the classroom. Whether it is enjoying a simple vegan masala chai, finding stillness in a forest, or navigating the road on two wheels, these moments are part of the process.
Why Practice with Me?
I believe in meeting you exactly where you are. My online Mysore-style sessions are not about rigid perfection or showing off postures. They are about building a sustainable, personal rhythm. I guide small groups through the traditional Primary Series, focusing on:
- Breath and Alignment: Using Ujjayi breath and Drishti to calm the mind.
- Adaptable Practice: Making the traditional system work for your body and your schedule.
- Holistic Wellness: I help you incorporate small, actionable changes into your lifestyle, such as digital detoxes or plant-based nutrition swaps, to manage city stress.
Making the Shift
If you feel like life is moving too fast and you are losing your center, know that finding balance is a process. It is about the small, consistent choices. Whether you are a beginner looking to start your journey or an experienced practitioner looking for guidance in the Mysore tradition, I am here to walk that path with you. Let’s find what feels good for your antaratma (inner self) and build a practice that feels like home.
