Real Yoga in Practice: Inside Our Sanatan Yoga Studio
Step inside our daily practice where we focus on technique, alignment, and community. Here, we use props to make traditional Hatha Yoga accessible, safe, and effective for every student.
A glimpse into our evening offline class. You can see students of different ages and levels moving together through a gentle flow, from standing stretches to warrior poses. Everyone works at their own pace.
Here, students use blocks for support in a balancing pose. Props are not a sign of weakness; they are intelligent tools that help everyone access the benefits of an asana and maintain correct alignment.
A look at our class practicing Prasarita Padottanasana (Wide-Legged Forward Bend). Notice how students use blocks to modify the pose according to their flexibility, ensuring a safe and effective hamstring stretch.
My students working on their forward bends. The focus and dedication in the room are always inspiring. Each person is on their own journey, but we move forward together.
The class settles into meditation and Om chanting. This practice, also known as Valmiki Pranayama, is excellent for stress relief and cultivating deep, conscious breathing.
Students practicing a gentle supine pranayama (breathing exercise). We dedicate time in every class to conscious breathing, which is the foundation of yoga and essential for calming the mind and body.
A full class working on Rajakapotasana (Pigeon Pose). It's wonderful to see so many students at different stages of their practice exploring this deep hip-opening pose together.
This is an amazing depiction of shoulder rotation at three different levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It shows how consistency is the only key to deepening your practice over time.
This challenging arm and core strengthening pose is not as easy as it looks. My students are building serious strength and stability here. Great job!
A student uses a yoga strap to work towards Poorna Rajakapotasana (Full Pigeon Pose). This is a perfect example of how we use props to safely guide the body into advanced postures.
About Inside Our Studio: Asanas and Community
People often think yoga props are just for beginners, but in our studio, they are intelligent tools for proper alignment. Whether you are using a block to modify a forward bend or a strap to safely deepen a backbend, these tools help you access the true benefits of a pose without straining your muscles. You will see students of all ages in our Arekere studio moving at their own pace, ensuring that your yoga practice is safe and sustainable.
At Sanatan Yoga Studio, we believe that 'doing' yoga is not enough; you have to do it correctly to see results. This is why our classes are centered around the principles of traditional Hatha Yoga. We avoid the 'fancy yoga' trends that prioritize aesthetics over health. Instead, we focus on injury prevention and long-term well-being.
Why We Prioritize Props
Props like wooden blocks, straps, bolsters, and chairs are not signs of weakness. They are essentials for longevity. By using them, we ensure that every student, regardless of their current flexibility, can perform asanas with the correct geometry. This careful, supported approach is what allows our students to reverse health issues like PCOD, manage high blood pressure, and find relief from chronic back pain.
A Community of Growth
Our studio in Arekere is designed to be a safe space. You will find a mix of people here—from children working on focus to seniors improving their joint mobility. We move together, we chant together, and we support each other’s progress. When you walk into our studio, you aren't just joining a class; you are joining a family that celebrates small wins, whether it’s finally touching your toes or simply finding a moment of calm during a busy day.
Consistency is Key
We don't look for shortcuts. Whether you are in our evening sessions or our therapeutic morning batches, the goal remains the same: consistency. We teach you how to breathe, how to move, and how to listen to your body. If you are looking for a place where you will be guided, corrected, and encouraged to be your authentic self, you have found it.
Sanatan Yoga Studio
I am Raveena, and I founded this studio because I know that doing yoga the wrong way does more harm than good. I don't care about flashy poses; I care about helping you move safely, fix your posture, and feel the real benefits of Hatha Yoga. Join us if you want a practice that actually works.
