Doing a yoga pose isn't enough; doing it correctly is what brings results. I teach traditional Hatha Yoga in Arekere by breaking down common mistakes, ensuring your practice is safe, therapeutic, and truly effective.

Understanding the correct alignment in a backbend is crucial to avoid pain. This image breaks down the wrong way, which causes pelvic and knee issues, versus the right way, which involves bending from the mid-back for a safe, deep stretch.

This is a clear visual of 'Backbending vs. Back pain'. The incorrect pose on the right puts pressure on the lower back, while the correct pose on the left shows a healthy, supported spinal extension. We always focus on correct form.

Are you doing Baddhakonasana (Butterfly Pose) correctly? Many people curve their spine, but the real benefit comes from keeping the spine straight. I demonstrate the correct way for beginner and intermediate levels using a block for support.

"Do you know you've been doing Malasana incorrectly all these years?" This is a question I ask often. Practicing yoga correctly is more important than just practicing, and I give personal attention to fix these common alignment issues.

A perfect Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) requires alignment. Notice how the student's hands, shoulders, and head are in one straight line. This precision is what makes the pose effective for stretching the entire side of the body.

Makarasana (Crocodile Pose) is a foundational relaxation asana. I guide you through the correct setup, with hands stacked and legs apart, to ensure your body can completely release and recover.

Many movements are often mislabeled as yoga. Here, I show examples of exercises that are not part of traditional yoga practice. My studio is here to break these myths and teach you the authentic path.

Power Yoga, Beer Yoga, Puppy Yoga... the list goes on. At Sanatan Yoga Studio, we say no to these trends and focus only on traditional yoga that has been practiced for thousands of years for genuine health benefits.

This is my philosophy. We say NO to extreme practices done without understanding and YES to traditional yoga for strength, flexibility, focus, and mental balance.

About The Sanatan Method: Practice Yoga Correctly

Most back pain happens because students force a pose without understanding how to engage their core or align their spine. At Sanatan, we don't just show you a movement; we explain the 'why' behind it. Using wooden blocks and straps isn't 'cheating'—it is exactly how you find the support your body needs to open up safely without risking an injury.
