Breath is the bridge between the body and the mind. Explore the subtle energy of Prana through our guided, traditional Pranayama Sadhana workshops in Whitefield.

Prana is energy, and energy is everywhere. Science proves it, and yoga allows us to live it. Our workshops on Pranayama help you dive deeper into this fundamental concept.

Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, or alternate nostril breathing, is a practice of purification. Each step forward is a stage in your progression, clearing the energy channels and bringing a sattvic state of mind.

Our Pranayama Sadhana workshop is for those ready to deepen their practice. As the Hatha Yoga Pradipika teaches, a yogi must first be established in asana before advancing to pranayama. This image captures the focused energy of our group.

Our workshops are not just about practice, but also about community and discussion. Here, students gather after a pranayama session to share insights and deepen their understanding together.

Yoga can be a powerful tool for respiratory health. Through controlled breathing techniques learned in our workshops, you can strengthen your lungs, improve oxygen flow, and manage conditions like asthma and breath shortness.

The Pranayama Sadhana week for our community begins. This is a time to delve deeper into aspects of practice beyond asana, learning pranayama techniques from both a student and teacher perspective.

Cultivating Sakshi Bhava, the state of the detached witness, is a practice. In meditation, we learn to observe the breath and thoughts without attachment, connecting to our true consciousness.

About this collection

Our Pranayama Sadhana is not a light introduction; it is a structured, 12.5-hour immersive course held over five consecutive mornings. To ensure a safe and supportive container for this depth of work, we require at least one year of consistent physical practice. We limit our cohorts to 20 students, allowing us to address individual nuances and provide the direct guidance necessary for this kind of traditional breathwork.

Moving Beyond Asana

Many practitioners reach a plateau where movement alone is not enough to satisfy the hunger for deeper growth. This is where Pranayama becomes essential. Following the teachings of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, we believe that one must first be established in asana—meaning the physical body and breath are controlled—before progressing to the subtle work of pranayama. Rushing into these practices without a foundation can be unsustainable and, at times, unsettling.

What Our Sadhana Involves

Our intensive Pranayama workshops are designed to purify energy channels (Nadis) and bring the mind into a sattvic, or balanced, state. Over the course of the 5-day intensive at our Whitefield studio, we cover:

  • Traditional Breathwork: Moving through foundational to advanced retention techniques.
  • Shatkarmas: Gentle cleansing techniques that prepare the body for pranayama.
  • Philosophy & Discourse: Daily sessions where we explore yogic texts like the Yoga Sutras, ensuring you understand the 'why' behind the 'how'.
  • Sakshi Bhava: Cultivating the state of the 'detached witness' to help you navigate life's challenges with equanimity.

A Supportive Environment

We keep our batches small to ensure that every student receives individual attention. Whether we are practicing Nadi Shodhana to clear the energy channels or sitting for meditative discussion, the focus is always on your personal trajectory. This is a space to address doubts, share the collective energy of the group, and refine your practice in a way that respects the tradition rather than rushing through techniques for the sake of completion. If you are ready to stop just 'doing' yoga and start truly 'living' it, we invite you to join our next cycle.
