Mindfulness & Pranayama Practice
Yoga extends far beyond physical poses. Explore my guided breathwork, meditation, and chanting sessions designed to quiet the mind and foster a lasting sense of inner peace.
Slow down, breathe deep, and take a break. This simple breathing exercise, or pranayama, allows you to witness a quiet transformation taking place within.
We often incorporate AUM chanting in my yoga classes. The sound vibration enhances focus, reduces stress, and fosters a deep sense of connection and healing.
A quiet moment in a group class, practicing Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing). This pranayama technique is excellent for balancing the mind and body.
Baddha Padmasana (Bound Lotus Pose) is an advanced meditative posture. It encourages a state of stillness and introspection, helping to quiet the mind.
About Mindfulness & Pranayama
In my sessions, we focus on the rhythm of your breath rather than the complexity of a pose. Whether we are practicing Nadi Shodhana for energy balance or AUM chanting to clear mental clutter, I provide constant verbal cues to ensure you are breathing deeply and not creating tension in your body.
Many students come to me thinking yoga is only about flexibility or getting into advanced postures. But the real work happens when we sit still and turn our attention inward. This is where the practice of Pranayama and mindfulness becomes essential. It is not just about relaxation. It is a tool for mental regulation that you can take off the mat and into your daily life in Bangalore.
Why Practice Pranayama?
Pranayama is the science of breath. When your mind is racing, your breath is usually shallow and erratic. By consciously slowing the inhalation and exhalation, we signal to the nervous system that it is safe to settle down. This practice builds a different kind of strength, one that helps you handle work stress, sleep better, and maintain balance during chaotic days.
How We Practice Together
I teach these techniques with the same care as my Hatha Yoga flows. We start with basic breath awareness and gradually move into structured breathing cycles. We also incorporate AUM chanting. It might feel strange at first, but the vibration of the sound is a powerful way to focus the mind and release the tension held in the chest and throat. Whether you are joining me for an online Zoom batch or at my studio in Electronic City, the focus remains on your individual experience. We do not rush. We observe the mind, watch the breath, and learn to find our own sukoon (peace) regardless of what is happening around us. This is accessible to everyone, regardless of your current fitness level or experience with meditation.
