Beyond Asana: Pranayama, Mudra & Meditation
Yoga extends far beyond physical postures. We guide you through the subtle practices of breathwork, energetic seals, and meditation to calm the mind and awaken your inner consciousness.
Self-practice, or 'Abhyasa', is an invaluable ritual for every yoga teacher. It is an opportunity for self-inquiry, moving from asana to pranayama and meditation to connect with your deeper self.
Who said yoga is all about asanas? Here, we engage in a Havan (fire ceremony) and mantra chanting, two powerful practices from the eight limbs of yoga that purify the environment and the mind.
A 50-minute pranayama practice captured in 50 seconds. Pranayama, with the use of mudras and bandhas, is a tool to control the leakage of prana and enhance the flow of life force for a more holistic life.
Navratri Sadhana is a time for intense devotion and spiritual awakening. Here, our community gathers for kirtan and meditation, channeling the divine feminine energy, or Shakti, for inner growth.
A pranayama class in progress for our TTC students, practiced in the fresh morning air. We teach the profound effects of breath regulation on the respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems.
Asana is just one part of a holistic yoga practice. We guide our students through mantra, japa, bhakti, pranayama, and meditation to offer a complete experience of yoga.
When you remove the enemy inside, no external enemy can harm you. Here, we practice Trataka (candle gazing), a powerful kriya and meditation technique to focus the mind and release inner blockages.
Preparing students for Pancha Prana Meditation with Hasta Mudras. Our teacher trainings go beyond asana to help students experience the subtle, energetic layers of yoga.
Bhakti Yoga with our TTC participants during Navratri Sadhana. Kirtan, or devotional chanting, is a joyful practice that opens the heart and sublimates emotions.
A flow focused on the Swadhisthana (Sacral) Chakra. We explore the significance of each chakra, its element, and its corresponding emotional and physical qualities to create a balanced practice.
About Beyond Asana: Pranayama, Mudra & Meditation
In our sessions, you will not find generic routines. We focus on Yukta pranayama—the correct application of breath control—and specific mudra-bandha combinations that align with your energetic needs. Whether you join us online or at our Ghatkopar studio, expect to move past physical fitness into deep self-inquiry, using ancient techniques to regulate your nervous system and steady your mind.
Yoga is often reduced to the physical body, but the true essence lies in the subtlety of the breath and the stillness of the mind. In this program, we move beyond the physical mat to explore the deeper limbs of yoga. You will learn the science behind breath regulation—how pranayama influences your autonomic nervous system—and the precise use of mudras to direct your internal energy flow.
We avoid cookie-cutter sequences. Instead, we teach:
- Breath Mechanics: Understanding the difference between ayukta (improper) and yukta (correct) practice to ensure safety and physiological benefit.
- Energetic Anatomy: Working with Pancha Vayus and Chakras to understand the subtle body, not just the physical one.
- Meditation Depth: Moving from concentration into actual meditation using Yoga Nidra, Trataka, and Ajapa Japa.
Whether you are a teacher looking to broaden your skillset or a practitioner seeking deeper grounding, our sessions offer a space for sincere study. We teach at our studio in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, and offer live, interactive sessions online, ensuring that you receive personal guidance regardless of your location. Bring your devotion and your questions. We will provide the structure.
