Move beyond basic sequences. Our workshops focus on the mechanics of advanced postures and the inner awareness required to sustain them safely.

This is a preparation for Mayurasana (Peacock Pose), focusing on building core strength and breath control. Our advanced classes teach that the journey to a pose is as important as the pose itself, with each step building the foundation for spiritual accomplishment.

In a moment of Dharana, or concentration, the mind becomes steady like a flame in still air. Here, in a deep forward fold, the practice is not just physical; it is about freeing the mind from distraction and returning to your true nature.

The journey into Eka Pada Raja Kapotasana (One-Legged King Pigeon Pose) is a graceful unfolding in three stages. This final expression is a culmination of a stable base, an open chest, and a deep connection between breath, spine, and grip.

Preparing for Nakarasana (Crocodile Pose) begins with mastering foundational postures like Chaturanga Dandasana. Our approach is about improving, not proving, by building stability and strength step-by-step.

This is Stage Two of Shalabhasana (Locust Pose), a powerful back-strengthening posture. We guide you to move beyond your perceived limits not by force, but by nurturing control and expanding your awareness with each breath.

Our Weekend Advanced Hatha Yoga classes are for those feeling stagnant in their practice. Here, we explore challenging arm balances like Eka Pada Koundinyasana, breaking through barriers to find new inspiration on the mat.

Does asana truly bring relaxation? Yes, when practiced with awareness. By focusing on controlled movements and breath, we learn to regulate the nervous system, which is the true source of stress relief and well-being.

About this collection

Most practitioners view advanced asanas as something to achieve, but here, we treat them as a study of biomechanics. In our Whitefield sessions, we do not just flow; we disassemble challenging postures—like Eka Pada Raja Kapotasana or complex arm balances—to see how your specific anatomy interacts with gravity. It is about understanding where your body needs support and where it needs engagement, ensuring you progress without the risk of injury.

The Architecture of Practice

Advanced practice requires a shift from imitation to understanding. Our themed workshops, such as the 'Uttama' monthly series, are structured to strip away the guesswork. We spend weeks on drills, conditioning, and alignment checks before ever attempting the 'peak pose' of the month.

Biomechanics Over Aesthetics

Whether it is a deep backbend or a demanding arm balance, we use props like walls, chairs, and blocks—not to make the pose 'easier,' but to isolate specific muscles. This is vital for safety in the Whitefield yoga community, where practitioners often push too hard, too fast. We focus on:

  • Weekend Technical Immersions: Deep dives into anatomy and the 'how-to' of movement.
  • Sadhana-Based Pranayama: Because advanced asana without breath control is merely gymnastics.
  • Peer-to-Peer Labs: Learning through tactile adjustment and shared observation.

Why This Approach

Many practitioners hit a plateau after a year of general classes. You might have the flexibility but lack the stability, or the strength but lack the breath control. Our workshops provide the missing technical pieces. This is not a space for perfecting 'Instagram poses.' It is a space to refine your relationship with your body. If you are ready to stop forcing and start understanding, we are here to support that process.
