Our Community: Yoga Retreat Stories & Shared Moments
These aren't just trips; they are invitations to come back to your own heart. We gather as strangers, sharing tea, silence, and stories, and leave as a family.
The wonderful group from our magical Ladakh retreat. The bond we formed in this special place, practicing and exploring together, is something I will always cherish.
Our Sthiram 2.0 retreat family at the Dunagiri Devi temple. Sharing these spiritual experiences together deepens our connection to the place and to each other.
The simple joy of sharing a cup of tea and laughter. These informal moments of connection are just as important as the time we spend on the mat.
Sharing a moment over evening tea. These pauses in our day are where friendships are built and stories are exchanged.
Enjoying some delicious and healthy treats with a fellow retreater. Good food and good company are a perfect combination.
Candid moments of conversation and connection between participants. It's beautiful to witness new friendships blossoming.
What is better than solitude? Collective solitude. This video from our Gangotri retreat shows us sitting together in silence by the river, each in our own world, yet deeply connected.
A happy moment from a weekend wellness festival. It's always wonderful to see the wider yoga community come together to share their love for the practice.
About Our Community: Stories & Testimonials
The magic doesn't happen just on the mat; it happens in the tea breaks, the shared meals, and the silent moments by the river. When we gather in places like Ladakh or Dunagiri, we stop being strangers and become a family, holding space for each other’s stories while we collectively pause. It is in these informal, quiet moments that the true work of yoga—finding our home within—becomes real.
I believe that true yoga is not a solitary confinement, but a collective experience. When I curate these retreats, whether in the high altitude of Ladakh or the lush tropics of Sri Lanka, I look for more than just a beautiful view. I look for spaces that allow us to drop our defenses.
Why Community Matters
In my experience, the hardest part of any wellness journey is doing it alone. When you sit in silence by the Ganga or share a cup of Assam tea after a morning flow, you realize that your internal struggles are shared. We use these gatherings to move from the gross to the subtle—not just through asana, but through honest, open connection.
The Sthiram Experience
Our 'Sthiram' retreats are specifically designed to foster this bond. We focus on:
- Collective Solitude: Learning to be comfortable in silence, surrounded by others.
- Shared Nourishment: Farm-to-table meals that connect us to the land.
- Safe Vulnerability: Open circles where we discuss the journey inward.
This isn't about being a yoga pro. You don't need to touch your toes to join. You just need a willingness to show up, breathe, and perhaps shed a tear or share a laugh with someone who was a stranger just days ago. These bonds, forged in the mountains or by the ocean, are what I cherish most about this journey.
