Himalayan Yoga Retreats in Ladakh and Uttarakhand
The mountains are my greatest teachers. Join me in Ladakh and Uttarakhand for retreats where movement meets stillness, and the silence of the Himalayas helps you find the home within yourself.
Sitting in stillness amidst the raw, majestic landscape of the Himalayas during our Tapovan trek. In moments like these, you realize the mountains, the sky, and the silence are all reflections of what is already within you.
Feeling the wind and the energy of the Indus river in Ladakh. There's a wild freedom in these landscapes that encourages you to just be, fully present and alive in the moment.
A quiet moment by a high-altitude lake in Ladakh as the sun sets. The crisp air and the golden light on the water create a feeling of profound peace and connection to the earth.
Standing amidst the prayer flags at a high mountain pass in Ladakh. Each flag sends a prayer on the wind, and being here feels like you are part of that collective offering of peace.
The vibrant prayer flags against the vast, dramatic sky of Ladakh. They are a constant reminder of the spiritual energy that permeates this land, a beautiful symbol of hope and compassion.
Pausing by a rushing river in a Ladakhi valley. The sound of the water and the stillness of the mountains create a perfect harmony, a natural soundtrack for contemplation and self-reflection.
Exploring the bustling market streets of Leh. Part of the journey is immersing ourselves in the local culture, seeing the crafts, and feeling the pulse of life in this unique mountain town.
The magnificent Maitreya Buddha statue at Diskit Monastery in Nubra Valley. Visiting these sacred sites is an integral part of our retreats, offering moments for quiet reflection and learning.
The breathtaking confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers. Seeing these two powerful bodies of water merge is a powerful metaphor for the union of different energies that we explore in our yoga practice.
A stupa overlooking the vast, arid landscape of Ladakh. These structures are points of immense peace and spiritual energy, perfect for a moment of quiet meditation.
About Himalayan Journeys: Ladakh & Uttarakhand
These retreats are not about perfecting poses in a fancy studio. We use the raw, quiet landscapes of the Himalayas—whether it is the high altitude of Ladakh or the lush forests of the Kumaon region—to create a container for honest self-enquiry. Each day balances active morning flows with evening restorative work, ensuring you return home with practical tools for your own practice, not just memories of the mountains.
The Himalayan Setting
There is a specific kind of silence you only find at high altitudes. In Ladakh, the arid landscapes and the vast, open skies force you to slow down. In Kumaon, the forest air and the sound of mountain rivers ground your nervous system. I pick these locations because nature does half the work. We aren't just travelling to a place; we are stepping into a different frequency of living.
What To Expect
- Morning Practice: We start with Hatha and Vinyasa flows, focusing on mobility and breath. It is not about how deep you can bend, but how present you can be.
- Afternoon Exploration: Depending on the region, we might visit local monasteries, go on guided nature walks, or spend time in community interactions. It is about immersing ourselves in the local culture, not just observing it.
- Evening Restoration: We wind down with Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, or sound healing. This is where we let the body absorb the day’s work.
Why Join?
Whether you are a beginner or have been practicing for years, these retreats offer a space to reset. We keep groups intimate, fostering a sense of community where we share chai, silence, and stories. You will leave with a stronger foundation in your practice and, hopefully, a clearer sense of the 'home' within yourself. My team and I take care of the logistics—from premium heritage stays to farm-to-table vegetarian meals—so your only job is to show up for yourself.
