Mindful Healing & Yoga Retreat Experiences
My retreats offer a space to slow down and reconnect. We use meditation, sound, and nature to find the quiet space that lives within us, away from the daily noise.
Using a frame drum during a sound healing session. The deep, resonant vibrations of the drum can be incredibly grounding, helping to bring you fully into the present moment.
This video captures the soul-stirring Cacao Immersion and forest bathing session from our Sthiram 2.0 retreat. The sacred cacao plant helps us open our hearts and listen to the whispers of the forest.
"Om Purnamadah Purnamidam." A clip from our morning mantra chanting session. This powerful mantra reminds us that we are already whole and complete, derived from the ultimate completeness of the universe.
A short talk on Dharana, the state of one-pointed focus. I explain how stilling the eyes can still the mind, preparing us for the deeper states of meditation, or Dhyana.
In this video, I try to uncomplicate meditation. It's not about having no thoughts, but about witnessing them without engagement. I share simple techniques like body scanning and breath awareness to help you begin.
Leading a meditation session in our beautiful, light-filled yoga shala. Creating a safe and serene space is the first step to allowing the mind to settle.
Another view of our meditation session, with me guiding the group from the front. The collective energy of a group meditating together is incredibly powerful and supportive.
A group of participants sitting in meditation, their hands in Anjali Mudra. This gesture of reverence and gratitude sets the tone for our practice.
An outdoor meditation session at sunset. Connecting with the rhythm of nature, the setting sun, and the cooling air is a beautiful way to practice mindfulness.
A group meditating together inside the ancient and powerful cave of Mahavatar Babaji. The energy in this space is palpable, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience of deep stillness and connection.
About Mindful Experiences: Healing & Connection
You won't find strict schedules here, but rather a flow that respects your nervous system. Whether we are in the high Himalayas or tropical forests, our days are designed to help you drop the performance of 'doing yoga' and simply arrive in a state of being, where the silence is as important as the movement.
Moving From Gross to Subtle
My approach to these retreats is rooted in the philosophy of moving from the gross to the subtle. We start with active asana and movement to ground the body, but the real work happens when we slow down. Through Kriyas, mantra chanting, and restorative Yin Yoga, we peel back the layers of daily stress. This is not about achieving the perfect pose. It is about understanding how your body holds tension and learning how to release it through breath.
What To Expect
Each retreat is a carefully planned immersion. We integrate:
- Morning Practice: Hatha or Vinyasa flows to build heat and presence.
- Deep Enquiry: Philosophy sessions where we discuss how to apply yogic wisdom to modern life.
- Nature Connection: Whether we are in Ladakh or the jungles of Sri Lanka, we incorporate nature as an active participant in our healing, through forest bathing or silent walks.
- Sound Healing: Evening sessions with Tibetan bowls to reset the nervous system.
Why Nature Matters
I pick locations like the Kumaon region or the coast of Lombok because nature does half the work for us. The silence of the mountains or the rhythm of the ocean provides a natural backdrop for meditation that a studio simply cannot replicate. These spaces help us move from the constant noise of a 'busy mind' to a state of 'witnessing', where thoughts can pass without engagement. If you are looking for a space to check in with yourself rather than escape from your life, this is where that journey begins.
