About Coastal Escapes: Surf & Serenity
You do not need to be a surfer or a seasoned yogi to join these retreats. We start with the basics—learning to stand on a board on the sand before heading into the waves, and practicing simple asanas that open up the hips and shoulders for better mobility. It is not about perfecting a pose or catching a massive wave; it is about learning to trust yourself in new, fluid environments.
When you are out on the water, you cannot be thinking about your emails or your to-do list. The ocean demands your full attention, which is exactly why surfing acts as a moving meditation. By pairing this with daily yoga, we create a rhythm that helps you move from the gross to the subtle.
Why Combine Yoga and Surf?
Surfing requires physical mobility and mental presence, two things we cultivate on the mat. My morning flows focus on warming up the joints and building the core strength needed to paddle, while evening sessions lean into restorative practices like Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra to help you recover.
The Experience in Lombok and Sri Lanka
These retreats are hosted in settings where nature does the heavy lifting. Whether we are in the lush jungles of Sri Lanka or the tropical coast of Lombok, the environment is designed to slow you down.
- Beginner Friendly: We keep the surf groups intimate and guided by professionals, ensuring you feel safe and supported whether you are catching your first wave or your fiftieth.
- Nourishment: We emphasize local, organic, plant-forward meals that fuel your body without weighing you down.
- Community: The magic often happens between the sessions. We share stories, eat together, and hold open chats, turning a group of strangers into a retreat family.
This is not a fast-paced vacation. It is a chance to pause, breathe, and remember what it feels like to simply be present.
