My Personal Yoga Practice and Wellness Routine

Yoga is my daily anchor, my space for reflection, and my personal reset. This is where my practice happens, and I would love to guide you in finding your own balance on the mat.

A reflection of a deep hip opening pose. For me, yoga is both an inner revolution and a sacred responsibility as a teacher.

Practicing a standing balance pose as the sun sets over the ocean. These moments in nature are where I feel most connected and at peace.

This is my dedication to my practice. Using a yoga wheel to deepen my backbend, I reflect on how yoga has shown me my self worth and changed my perspective on life.

Practicing Pincha Mayurasana, or forearm stand, in the park. Inversions challenge me to find clarity and focus, reminding me that when the 'why' is clear, the 'how' appears.

A quiet moment in Prasarita Padottanasana, a wide legged forward bend. This pose helps me turn inward and reflect on the 'what ifs' of life with a sense of calm.

A silhouette of a reverse warrior pose against a dramatic sunset. Every sunset reminds me that there is always an opportunity to reset and refocus.

Eagle Pose, or Garudasana, in a natural setting. This balancing pose strengthens my legs and opens my shoulders while helping me cultivate focus and stability.

About this collection

I don’t just show up on the mat to perform. I frequently use props like yoga wheels and blocks to safely open my shoulders and release the deep-seated tension that accumulates from running and daily desk work. These are not just tools for flexibility, they are support systems that help me stay consistent even when my body feels tight, and I teach this same approach to my students in Bengaluru.

My practice is not about the aesthetic of a pose; it is about the feeling of sukoon (peace) it brings me after a long week. Whether I am flowing through a sequence after a marathon or taking five minutes to breathe with my dogs, my mat is where I return to myself. This is the exact philosophy I bring to my classes—yoga for every body, regardless of whether you are a runner, a new mother, or someone just starting to explore mindful movement.

How I Integrate My Practice

  • Mobility First: In Bengaluru, our lifestyle often keeps us hunched over laptops. I use techniques like self-myofascial release and active stretching to counter this. My personal practice emphasizes functional movement over rigid discipline.
  • Props as Allies: I use wheels, straps, and blocks to deepen my stretches. These props help students avoid injury, especially when working on deep hip openers or backbends.
  • Real Life, Real Yoga: Some days are for high-energy Power Yoga, and other days are purely for restorative mobility. My sessions are designed to follow your body's needs, not a rigid schedule.

If you are looking for a yoga teacher who understands that life is messy and that practice should be a support system rather than another obligation, let us connect. My sessions are personalized, focused on your anatomy, and designed to help you find that same sense of balance.

I’m Richa. On the mat, I am a seeker, a student, and a teacher, often with my two Shih Tzus keeping me company. I believe yoga is an inner revolution that happens one breath at a time, and I am always a work in progress.
