My Approach to Authentic Yoga Practice

I don't believe in perfect poses or rigid expectations. My teaching style is about creating a safe, grounded space where you can connect with your body and mind on your own terms.

There are a few important things to know when choosing a yoga instructor. In this video, I discuss the importance of qualifications, teaching style, communication, safety, and specialization. It's all about finding the right guide for your personal journey.

A few reflections from my own practice. My mat teaches me gratitude for my body, to enjoy the small movements, and to remember that it's okay to feel like I'm starting over. I am on my own journey, in my own lane.

About this collection

When I started my own yoga journey, I could not even touch my toes, and some days I still struggle with balance. My teaching style isn't about perfectly posed photos, it is about guiding you through Hatha and Vinyasa flows that respect where your body is today. We focus on breathing and alignment, not on competing with the person on the next mat.

Why I Teach This Way

Yoga changed my life when I was dealing with anxiety and depression. Because of that, my classes are not about flexibility as a goal, but about movement as a release. Whether you are coming to my rooftop studio in Malleshwaram or joining online, my priority is keeping the environment non-intimidating.

My Hatha-Vinyasa Blend

I combine Hatha and Vinyasa, which means we work on holding poses to build strength while also incorporating the flow and breathwork that helps you calm down.

  • Hatha: We hold postures to focus on alignment and building foundational strength.
  • Vinyasa: We move with the breath to release tension and clear the mind.

Creating a Safe Space

I keep my group batches small (8 to 12 participants). This is intentional because I want to offer hands-on posture corrections and ensure you feel safe in the space. There is no ego here. If you are stiff, tired, or just having a bad day, that is exactly why you should be on the mat. My goal is for you to walk away feeling a little lighter and more at peace than when you started.

I am Gowri, and I started Mudra Yoga because I needed a space that didn't feel like a competition. I guide small groups here in Malleshwaram, focusing on Hatha and Vinyasa flows that help you release stress, not just stretch your hamstrings.
