My Yoga Journey and Teaching Philosophy

Yoga is more than just poses. It is a practice that helped me navigate my own anxiety and find peace. Here is the story of how my rooftop studio in Malleshwaram came to be and the philosophy behind how we move together.

Welcome to Mudra Studio. In this video, I introduce myself and my unique blend of Hatha Vinyasa yoga, which combines static holds with flowing movement to build strength and peace of mind.

A short introduction to me and my teaching style. I started practicing yoga for my own mental health and now aim to help others find the same benefits through a holistic approach.

Yoga has been the best investment I've made in myself. It helped me manage anxiety and heal from trauma. This video is a personal reflection on the life-changing benefits of movement.

What I learned on my mat last week. This video is a personal diary of my practice, reflecting on gratitude, enjoying the small movements, and the importance of focusing on my own journey.

Why yoga? This graphic introduces a series on the benefits of yoga that go beyond just fitness, featuring me in Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose).

Yoga makes you stronger and more flexible. This image shows me in Vasisthasana (Side Plank) with a block, illustrating how yoga can help with a stiff body and weak joints.

Feeling stressed? Yoga calms your mind. Here I am in Purvottanasana (Reverse Plank), a pose that opens the heart and helps release emotional tension.

About this collection

When you walk into my rooftop studio in Malleshwaram, you won't find perfectly staged silence. Some days the fan is loud, other days it is raining, and that is part of the deal. I teach a Hatha Vinyasa blend because I have lived the benefits of both stability and flow. I focus on tactile posture corrections rather than demonstrations from a distance because I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with basic alignment when you are just starting out.

My relationship with yoga started in 2016, not as a fitness goal, but as a survival mechanism against anxiety and depression. I vividly remember the frustration of not being able to touch my toes. That memory informs every session I lead today. I believe yoga is for real people, not just flexible athletes.

At Mudra, I blend Hatha and Vinyasa. We use Hatha to build the foundation—finding stability in static holds—and Vinyasa to bring in movement, keeping the breath steady as we flow. This balance helps in building physical stamina while quietening the mind.

Why the focus on small batches? Because yoga is deeply personal. In a group of 8 to 12, I can offer the hands-on adjustments that beginners often need to find their alignment safely. Whether you are struggling with tight hamstrings or a racing mind, the priority is always sustainable progress over achieving a perfect pose.

This rooftop space in Malleshwaram isn't a polished, high-end gym. It is an open, natural-ventilation environment where we embrace the reality of practice. It is about creating a sanctuary where you can show up exactly as you are—on your best days and your worst ones.
