My Journey Sharing Odia Flavors in Bangalore
Food is more than a meal. It is an emotion, a memory of home. Here is the story of how I bring the true taste of Purva Bharat to your table.
It brings me so much joy to see the little ones enjoying my food. Here, a young customer is happily munching on a crispy snack from my kitchen, a testament to flavors that everyone in the family can love.
I was honored to host Sumant Mansingh, the President of the U.K. Odia Samaj, at my office in Bengaluru. It is always a pleasure to connect with fellow community members who share a love for our culture and food.
Here I am with Mr. Sumant Mansingh during his visit. I had the opportunity to felicitate him in the traditional way, sharing our mutual appreciation for Odia heritage.
About Our Story & Community
My kitchen in Koramangala is more than just a place to prepare food. It is a meeting point for our community, a space where I have had the privilege to host everyone from local families to visiting dignitaries like the President of the U.K. Odia Samaj. Every box of sweets or meal parcel that leaves my kitchen carries that same spirit of connection and shared heritage.
When I first moved to Bangalore, I found it difficult to find the authentic taste of the dishes I grew up with in Odisha. Festivals would pass, and the void of not having our traditional sweets like Rasagola, Chhenapoda, or Rasabali felt significant. That is why I started this journey. It was not to build a massive business, but to keep our traditions alive and accessible for all of us living away from home.
I believe in honest quality. Whether it is the wood-fire baked Chhenapoda or the seasonal Pitha for our festivals, I refuse to cut corners. If a recipe needs 24 hours of prep, that is what I give it. This is why I ask for advance notice for most of my items—I do not believe in mass-producing and reheating. When you order from me, you get food that has been made fresh, just as I would make it for my own family.
Over time, this space has become a hub for the Odia diaspora. It brings me immense joy to see kids enjoying snacks that remind their parents of childhood, or to sit down with community leaders to discuss our culture. Whether you are looking for a taste of home, planning a small gathering for your friends, or just want to try the classic sweets of Eastern India, I am here to share that experience with you.
