About Karate & Kobudo Classes
I’ve been teaching karate and kobudo since 1992 - started with just 14 students, now it’s a real community. My own journey began under Okinawan teachers, and I stick to their way: discipline first, and the rest follows.
Why Train Here
This isn’t just about kicks and punches. I want you to grow, not just get fit. Discipline and focus are at the core. You’ll find your confidence, learn to stand up for yourself, and get better at handling tricky stuff in life.
What You’ll Learn
Classes are for all ages, beginners or those with some experience. My main style is Shorin-ryu karate - this is the real traditional Okinawan karate training. You’ll work on basics, get stronger, learn kata (those set forms), try kumite (sparring, but safe), and, if you stick with it, even tameshiwari (breaking stuff with technique, not just brute force).
With kobudo, it’s about weapons - bo, tonfa, nunchaku. The instruction is authentic, straight from what I learned in Okinawa.
Your Progress
You start at white belt and move up through the usual kyu grades. Reaching black belt isn’t quick or easy, but it’s worth it if you’re consistent.
The Dojo
The Honbu Dojo in Bangalore is our main spot. It’s set up for serious training, with all the weapons and equipment. Portraits of masters on the wall remind us to keep it real. Ganbatte (keep going).

My Story
Started back in 1992 with just 14 folks, now we’re teaching 50,000+ every year—pretty wild, right? All thanks to our students, teachers, and supporters. My Okinawa teachers shaped everything I know. We keep going back there, always learning. Got my Kyoshi Nanadan (7th Dan) recently, which is huge for me. For us, karate isn’t just sport—it’s about making people strong and safe. Like Sensei Nagamine said, 'Mada tarinu. Kitae konashite.' (It’s still not enough. Train hard.) That’s our vibe.
