Build Explosive Power and On-Field Agility
We turn raw strength into game-winning speed. From explosive plyometrics to ladder drills, our training is designed to sharpen your reflexes and boost your acceleration on the field.
Quick feet save runs and win matches. This session combines agility ladder drills, stair running, and cone drills to sharpen reaction time and improve multi-directional speed, essential skills for any elite fielder.
Uphill sprints are one of the toughest but most effective ways we build explosive leg power and mental grit. This drill is perfect for improving acceleration and speed endurance for cricketers.
Speed is a weapon in cricket. Our athletes hit the track for sprint training to improve their top-end speed for chasing down balls in the outfield and turning ones into twos.
Building match stamina means pushing the pace. Our athletes engage in high-intensity interval running on the track, simulating the stop-start nature of cricket and ensuring they can perform at their peak throughout the game.
We use high-speed treadmill sprints to work on running form and cardiovascular fitness in a controlled environment. This is a key part of our conditioning program to build a relentless work rate.
About this collection
At our Jayanagar and Kumaraswamy facilities, we do not just build gym strength, we force you to translate that force into on-field speed. It is not about looking good with weights, it is about combining heavy compound lifts with uphill sprints and reaction drills so you do not gas out when the match pressure peaks.
Why Strength Needs Speed
Many athletes focus only on the 'gym' side of fitness, lifting heavy to look strong. But in cricket or athletics, raw strength is useless if you cannot move quickly. Our program bridges this gap by periodizing your training. We do not just run laps; we utilize the traditional red-soil mud pit at our facility for resistance training, which builds the tendon strength needed for explosive bursts.
Where We Train
Our training happens across two primary hubs in Bengaluru:
- Kumaraswamy Layout (Gym): This is where we do the heavy lifting. With Olympic barbells and heavy iron equipment, we focus on the 'Big 3' lifts to build a solid foundation of raw power.
- Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium (Jayanagar): This is where the translation happens. We take that gym strength and apply it to sprint mechanics, ladder drills for fielding reflexes, and endurance work on the track.
The 'No-Shortcuts' Approach
We train for the reality of the sport. A T20 match requires different energy systems than a five-day game. Our conditioning protocols, including uphill sprints and high-intensity interval rowing, are designed to ensure your engine holds up when the match goes down to the wire. Whether you are a wicket-keeper working on lateral agility or a fast bowler building explosive power, our coaches—Kishon, Vikram, and I—ensure you are training for the right outcome. If you are ready for the grind and prepared to follow a 5 AM reporting policy, you will find a tribe here that pushes you to fail better and eventually win.
Indian Athletic Academy
We are the Indian Athletic Academy, a team that values the grind above everything else. Coaches like Kishon and Vikram, and I, work to ensure that every athlete—whether a pro cricketer or a kid starting out—learns how to fail, fail better, and finally win.
