Yoga Asana Demonstrations and Advanced Practice
You do not need to be a gymnast to practice advanced yoga. These demonstrations show how consistent, mindful practice can help you build strength, find balance, and deepen your own personal journey.
A step-by-step demonstration of Prasarita Padottanasana (Wide-Legged Forward Bend). This video shows the full range of motion, from the initial stretch to the deep forward fold.
A student practices a deep elbow-stand backbend. This advanced asana, Dvi Pada Viparita Dandasana, requires significant strength and flexibility, which we build up to over time.
A student holds a perfect Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) in the studio. This classic backbend is a full-body workout, strengthening the arms, legs, and spine.
This video demonstrates the proper form for Vrikshasana (Tree Pose). It is a foundational balancing pose that calms the nervous system and improves neuromuscular coordination.
A demonstration of Ustrasana (Camel Pose) and its variations. This powerful backbend reduces fat on the thighs, opens the hips, and stretches the entire front of the body.
This video shows the flow of entering and holding Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). This asana strengthens the legs, opens the hips, and helps improve digestion and balance.
My 2022 recap video, filled with moments of practice, travel, and teaching. It is a reminder to live a healthy, happy life and to always keep smiling.
About My Demonstrations & Advanced Practice
You might see these advanced poses like Chakrasana or Dvi Pada Viparita Dandasana and think they are out of reach, but my goal is to show you the path to getting there safely. We start by building the foundation—hip mobility, spinal flexibility, and core strength—using props like blocks and wheels. I believe you should focus on connecting with your body rather than just forcing it into a shape.
Yoga is often misunderstood as just physical stretching, but as a teacher, I see asanas as a language of the body. When you look at these photos, you see the result, but the real magic is in the 'sadhana' (practice) that gets you there.
Mindful Progression
Advanced poses require patience. We never rush. Whether we are working on your Trikonasana alignment or slowly moving toward a full backbend, my focus remains therapeutic. We prioritize spinal decompression and nervous system regulation to ensure that every stretch actually helps your body recover rather than adding stress.
The Role of Props
Many students hesitate to try advanced variations because they fear injury. This is where props come in. Using blocks, straps, and yoga wheels is not a sign of weakness; it is a tool for intelligent practice. Props provide the support you need to hold poses longer, understand the correct alignment, and eventually move deeper into the practice without strain.
