My Personal Yoga Practice and Discipline
My daily practice is where I test new movements and find ways to make challenging asanas safe and accessible. This foundation allows me to guide you with confidence and personal experience.
Working on a wall-assisted handstand, or Adho Mukha Vrksasana. Using the wall for support is a safe way to build the core and shoulder strength needed for inversions.
Practicing an L-shaped handstand against the wall. This variation is excellent for learning proper alignment and building endurance before attempting a full handstand.
Moving into a supported headstand, or Salamba Sirsasana. This inversion is known for calming the brain, relieving stress, and strengthening the entire upper body.
Another angle of the wall-assisted handstand practice. Consistency is key to progress in yoga, and I dedicate time each day to my own growth as a practitioner.
Holding the L-shape handstand to build stability. My personal practice is the foundation of my teaching, ensuring I can guide you safely and effectively.
A moment of focus in a supported headstand. This pose requires concentration and control, reinforcing the connection between mind and body.
About My Personal Practice & Dedication
I use the wall not just for support, but to find the exact alignment needed for every inversion. Whether I am working on an L-shaped handstand or a supported headstand, these props allow me to build core and shoulder strength while minimizing the risk of over-extending my body.
As a teacher, I firmly believe that my own practice is the best tool I have to serve my students. This is why I treat my daily sessions as a laboratory. When you see me in an inversion, you are seeing a process of trial, error, and growth that I eventually translate into the cues I give in our classes.
My approach to inversions like the Adho Mukha Vrksasana or Salamba Sirsasana is rooted in safety and incremental progress. I do not jump into advanced poses without preparation. I use the wall to establish a vertical line, which helps me feel the correct engagement in my shoulders and core. This is the same method I use with my students in Bengaluru. If you are nervous about starting, know that I use these same props and techniques to help you feel stable and secure before we ever attempt an unassisted pose.
Being a lifelong student keeps me humble. It reminds me of the struggle of learning something new and the patience required to see results. I encourage you to bring this same patience to your own journey. If you are struggling with your alignment or want to explore advanced movements, I can help you build the foundation needed to get there.
