About Themed 'Clay Date' Workshops
Unlike long-term courses, these sessions are strictly about the 'now.' I keep groups capped at just six people, so you aren’t fighting for my attention while learning to coil or slab-build. Everything from the clay and tools to the glazes is prepped before you arrive, so you just walk in, make your piece—whether it’s a tealight holder or a custom spoon rest—and I handle the messy drying and firing process later. You create, and I take care of the cleanup.
What to Expect
These 2.5 to 3-hour sessions are for people who want to touch clay without committing to a month of classes. Whether you are coming for a solo unwind, a unique date, or a team-building afternoon, we focus on hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab work. You don't need to know how to use a wheel to make something beautiful.
The Projects
We rotate our themes to keep things fresh. You might find yourself building miniature 'Tiny Towns' with tealights, sculpting 'Bling Perches' for your jewelry, or crafting custom 'Countertop Companions' like spoon rests. The best part? You customize your piece with your own textures, stamps, or affirmations. It is your project from start to finish.
The Firing Process
Because we prioritize functionality, all pieces undergo a professional two-stage firing process. After your session, I handle the trimming, slow drying, and the bisque and glaze kiln cycles at our studio. This takes 3 to 4 weeks to ensure your pottery is food-safe and durable. Once they are ready, you can collect your finished, glazed ceramics from our Indiranagar space to use in your home or gift to a friend.

Gauri Oak
I started GOAK Ceramics to share the quiet joy of working with clay. My studio in Indiranagar is a sun-drenched little escape where we trade screen time for 'clay time,' and it is always better when you’re here with us.
