About this collection
When you join me for a pottery session, we focus on handbuilding techniques like pinching and coiling rather than wheel work. This approach allows you to slow down and really connect with the clay, making it perfect for beginners to craft bowls, mugs, or vases without any pressure. You will also get to paint your creations once they are ready, meaning you leave with a finished piece that is entirely your own.
Why Choose Handbuilding?
Many people think pottery requires a wheel, but handbuilding offers a much more intimate way to work with clay. By using your hands to pinch, coil, and slab-build, you gain better control over your design and texture. It is a grounding, meditative experience that lets you detach from the digital world and focus on something tangible.
What You Will Create
In my studio, we keep things simple and fun. You will learn to work with terracotta or air-dry clay to construct functional items like:
- Bowls and Mugs: Perfect for everyday use.
- Vases: Create unique, organic shapes that you can then paint.
- Platters: Decorative pieces for your home.
Workshop Experience
My Whitefield studio provides a light-filled, cozy space to work. The sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to refine your project. I provide all the supplies, including clay tools, brushes, and paints, so you just need to show up ready to get a little messy.
Is This For You?
- Couples: My 'Clay Date' sessions are a popular way to spend quality time together doing something different.
- Beginners: If you think art isn't for you, I promise this will change your mind. I guide you step-by-step through every curve and mold.
- Corporate Groups: We host team-building events that foster collaboration through creativity.
Everything you make is yours to keep, and because we prioritize the joy of the process, you don't need any prior experience to leave with something you are proud of.
Paint Cafe Studio
I built Paint Cafe Studio to be a space where you can switch off the noise and just make something with your hands. I love guiding first-timers through clay work because watching you realize that you actually can create art is the best part of my day.
