About Join a Workshop: Course Announcements

In every batch, I cap student numbers at five to make sure you get enough one-on-one time to master the wheel or handbuilding techniques. You aren't just watching a demo; you are working through the clay chaos yourself, and you will head home with 8-10 finished, functional pieces that we have fired and glazed together.

Pottery Workshops: Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding

Learning to work with clay is a journey, and our 6-week modules are designed to get you comfortable with the material, not just the theory. Whether you are at our Indiranagar studio to master the potter's wheel or to explore handbuilding, we prioritize hands-on practice.

What You Will Learn

  • Wheel Throwing (Level 1): We start with the basics like wedging and centering, moving on to pulling cylinders, trimming, and surface decoration. By the end, you are throwing your own mugs and bowls.
  • Sculptural Handbuilding (Level 1): If the wheel isn't your speed, this course covers pinch, coil, and slab techniques. We focus on structural integrity and preventing cracks, helping you create everything from pitchers to botanical plates.

The Studio Experience

All materials are provided, from the clay and apron to the professional toolkit. When you sign up, you get access to the studio for extra practice during the week, provided there is space. This is a common pain point in many studios, but I believe the only way to get better is to spend more time at the wheel.

Firing & Finishing

One thing that surprises new students is how much work goes into the post-production. Included in your course fees are both the bisque firing (950°C) and the glaze firing (1200°C). You will be brushing and dipping your own pieces using our food-safe studio glazes. You are not just making showpieces; you are making things you will actually use at home.

I'm Gauri, and I built this studio around the joy of working with clay. It's less about the perfect pot and more about finding your people, learning the craft, and having a good time while we're at it.
