About Youth Athlete Program
Every young athlete starts with a mandatory biomechanical assessment by our in-house physios. We do not just put kids on a track; we analyze their movement patterns to correct form and build a prehabilitation routine before they ever race. It is how we ensure a young sprinter is developing power safely, avoiding the common strain injuries that come from rushing into high-intensity training.
Scientific Approach to Youth Development
At DSSA, we treat youth training with the same rigor as professional coaching. Our youth athlete program in Andheri East is designed to move children beyond just 'playing' to understanding the mechanics of their sport. Whether it is track and field, football, or general fitness, we emphasize the 'why' behind every movement.
Why Movement Science Matters for Kids
Children grow rapidly, and this affects their coordination and joint stability. By focusing on movement science, we teach proper posture during sprints, safe landing techniques for long jumps, and efficient agility patterns. Our coaches work alongside physiotherapists to monitor every child's development, ensuring they don't overtrain. This approach helps young athletes build a foundation that supports long-term success and keeps them injury-free.
Our Training Environment
We train at Holy Family High School and St. Dominic Savio High School, providing a consistent, professional environment for our squads. The program structure is progressive:
- Foundational Phase: Focuses on balance, coordination, and fundamental motor skills.
- Technical Phase: Introduces event-specific skills like sprint mechanics, hurdle rhythm, and explosive jumping techniques.
- Performance Phase: Prepares competitive youth for zonal, state, and national meets through structured time trials and event modeling.
We move from 3 days to 5 days a week based on the athlete's fitness stability, ensuring a manageable workload for school-going kids.
DSSA
I am Dayanand Shetty. At DSSA, we view youth sports as a commitment to long-term health and discipline. My team and I prioritize teaching the mechanics of movement first, so every child learns to train safely while building the confidence to compete.
