About Hurdle Mastery
Before you ever line up for a hurdle drill, we start with a musculoskeletal assessment. Our in-house physiotherapists check your hip mobility and core strength, because we believe safety is the foundation of speed. You will not just learn to jump; you will learn how to move, land, and recover so you can train consistently without the setback of common track injuries.
The Science of Hurdle Technique
Clearing a hurdle is not just about raw speed or jumping height. It is about maintaining your rhythm and minimizing time spent in the air. At our Andheri East training grounds, we break down your stride pattern and lead-leg mechanics to ensure you lose as little momentum as possible between barriers.
Our Training Progression
We don't believe in jumping into high-intensity hurdle work on day one. Our modular system is designed to build the necessary foundation first:
- Phase 1 (Base Building): We focus on flexibility, hip mobility, and basic sprint mechanics. You will work on rhythm runs and core stability to prepare your muscles for the explosive impact of hurdle drills.
- Phase 2 (Performance): Once your form is stable, we introduce competition-height hurdles and race-specific drills. This is where we refine your start-block clearance and stride pattern for the 80m, 100m, or 110m distances.
Injury Prevention & Physio
We know that the repetitive nature of hurdle training puts a significant strain on the hamstrings and hip flexors. Because we have in-house physiotherapy, we monitor your form during every session. If you feel tightness or fatigue, we adjust your plan immediately. We use post-workout form correction and regular biomechanical checks to identify weaknesses before they turn into injuries.
Whether you are a junior athlete aiming for your first state medal at St. Dominic Savio or a senior athlete refining your technique, our coaching is data-driven and focused on your long-term athletic health.
