Dance is my bhakti, my way of telling stories, and my life's work. Here is a look into my practice, my school Kalāmārga, and the joy of classical performance.

A moment of complete surrender, or 'Shringara Sharanagati', from a recent performance. This pose captures the essence of devotion that I strive to embody in my dance and impart to my students in our Bharatanatyam classes. It represents the core of my artistic expression.

Here is an excerpt from my 'Shringara Sharanagati' production, where I explore the divine effect of Krishna's flute through a sequence of karanas. This piece, set to the beautiful music of PuTiNa, showcases the blend of traditional choreography and personal interpretation that I bring to the stage.

The joy of seeing my students on stage is immeasurable. This is from our 'Nrityarpanam' event, where my budding dancers get to experience a full performance with a live orchestra. It is my firm belief that the stage is the greatest teacher.

I was once asked about the secret to art. My answer is simple: find moments of silence to truly observe the world around you. This is the core of my philosophy, turning everyday life into art and finding stories in the smallest details. It's how I teach students to connect with the 'bhava' or emotion in dance.

Exploring the limitless possibilities of the body through the practice of karanas from the Natyashastra. This is a glimpse into my personal practice, a journey of joy and discovery. In my advanced workshops, I guide students through these ancient movements to deepen their understanding of nritya.

The deep emotion of a gopika, lost in her love for Krishna. Abhinaya, or facial expression, is the soul of Bharatanatyam. In this moment, I am channeling the 'bhakti' and surrender that makes this art form a spiritual experience.

An invitation to 'Nrityarpanam', an offering of dance by the talented students of my school, Kalāmārga. We ensure every student performance is supported by a full live musical ensemble to provide an authentic and enriching stage experience.

What sets my training at Kalāmārga apart is the emphasis on live musical accompaniment. My students do not just dance to recorded audio; they learn to perform with a full ensemble, including Nattuvangam, vocal, Mridangam, and flute. This is a crucial skill for any serious dancer, as it teaches the nuance of rhythm and the real-time dialogue between the dancer and the musician on stage.
