Bharatanatyam is a complete experience for me—from the stage to the studio. Here is a glimpse into my performances, the dedication of my students, and the core philosophy of the Chithkala School of Dance.

A moment of unity and grace with my Chithkala Ensemble. I believe dance is a collective journey, and together we bring stories to life, whether in an outdoor setting like this or on a grand stage.

For me, Bharatanatyam is a language of emotion. This performance was an exploration of Krishna's love and longing, where every subtle movement and expression, the abhinaya, tells a story that words cannot.

I am filled with pride seeing my students blossom on stage. Here is one of my dedicated disciples, Srujana Purohit, captured in a moment of powerful stillness during her performance, embodying the grace and strength we cultivate in our classes.

The bond between a guru and shishya is at the heart of this tradition. This picture with my student Meenakshi Krishnesh before her Rangaabhivandane is a memory I cherish, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Dance can be a powerful medium to talk about important issues. In our production "Ṛtú Vismruti," my ensemble and I explored the theme of climate change, a moment of storytelling where I bless a student, symbolizing the passing of knowledge and responsibility.

The soul of Bharatanatyam is its music. This is a glimpse into our rehearsal for the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Festival, where I am working with the live orchestra. Understanding the nuances of Carnatic music is fundamental to my teaching.

Every student deserves the thrill of a live performance. This is from our school's annual day, 'Nruthya Sambrahma', where dancers of all ages and levels get to showcase their hard work and passion on stage.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge beyond my regular classes through intensive workshops. This poster announces a workshop in the Bay Area, where I offer focused training on specific compositions for intermediate and advanced dancers.

About Featured

I do not believe in separating performance from teaching. In my Basavanagudi studio, we practice on traditional red oxide flooring designed to reduce joint impact, conducting small batches of 8 to 12 students to ensure I can personally correct your posture and adavus. Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps or an experienced dancer preparing for your Arangetram, the focus remains on mastering the rhythm and Abhinaya rather than just memorizing movements.
