About Bharatanatyam Dance Performances
I see dance as my path and my offering—more than just movement, it's my way of connecting to something bigger. Every performance is a slice of my journey, with art found in the small, fleeting moments that stay with you.
What I Do
- Bharatanatyam for all kinds of events: cultural fests, office parties, family gatherings—you name it.
- Performances bring together:
- Deep storytelling from Indian traditions
- Expressive abhinaya (emotional acting)
- Fast-paced nritta (pure dance) with complex rhythms
My Signature Solo Shows
- Thematic solo dance productions are my thing.
- I love telling stories like:
- Shringara Sharanagati—Krishna and the Gopikas, all about love, surrender, and devotion
- Abhilasha—the longing of Radha and the Gopikas, exploring deep emotions
- Classic tales of Shiva, Devi, and devotees like Meerabai
Dance Meets Puppetry - Bombeyaata
- Sometimes, I mix Bharatanatyam with Bombeyaata (Kannada string puppetry).
- Shows like ‘Rukmini Parinaya’ blend movement and puppets—kids especially go crazy for this fusion of puppetry and classical dance.
The Music
- Always performed with a live orchestra—nattuvangam, vocals, mridangam, flute, and veena/violin.
- Live music gives real energy you just can’t fake.
Why I Love Performing
- I stick to tradition but I don’t mind a little maja (fun) on stage. If something funny happens—like my earring flying off in the middle—I just go with it. That’s the real joy of a live show. Yenjoy madi! (Just enjoy!)

My Story
Dance for me is family, faith, and stories. Amma’s tales of Ramayana, her bhakti - shaped me. Dhaatu Puppet Theater, puppets everywhere, it’s always been home. My guru, Praveen Kumar, showed me what the stage really means. That first time in Madras, 2011, just watching. Fourteen years later, I’m there, performing. Kālāya tasmai namaha. I study Natyashastra, chase karanas, find art in rain, in people, in life. For me, dance is everywhere. Blessed.
My Work
Bharatanatyam Performances, Classes, Choreography, Dance-Puppetry - I do solo thematic shows, teach all ages at Kalāmārga, create dance-puppetry fusion, and choreograph.
Storytelling Through Dance - I love bringing stories like 'Shringara Sharanagati' to life, making emotions the heart of my Bharatanatyam.
My Dance Style - Light feet, azhutham (groundedness), and lots of karanas. My research in Natyashastra shapes my teaching.
Kalāmārga & Rasa Rahasya - Beginner and intermediate Bharatanatyam classes, plus the Rasa Rahasya course for those wanting to dive deep.
Dance-Puppetry Fusion Shows - I mix Bharatanatyam and Bombeyaata puppetry, like in 'Rukmini Parinaya'—especially fun for kids.
