A curated look into my Bharatanatyam journey, blending traditional training with devotional expression, all under the guidance of my Guru, Sri P. Praveen Kumar.

This is the essence of Bharatanatyam for me, a moment of complete surrender to the rhythm and story. This pose captures the energy and grace that my Guru, Sri P. Praveen Kumar, has instilled in me through his teachings.

The Trikala Jati is a thrilling challenge, where we perform rhythmic patterns in three speeds. I find immense joy in the precision of these traditional adavus, a core part of the authentic Bharatanatyam training I offer.

I am forever blessed to be the disciple of my Guru, Sri P. Praveen Kumar. His guidance shapes every aspect of my dance, from the choreography and aesthetics to the very spirit of my performance.

A cherished moment from my student's Rangabhivandane, where I had the honor of performing the Nattuvangam. Guiding a student to their stage debut with a live orchestra is a profound part of my mentorship.

Abhinaya, or facial expression, is where dance transcends movement and becomes storytelling. In this piece, 'Venkatesha Shreesha', I sought to convey the deep devotion and emotion of a devotee's prayer.

I was given this opportunity to share a personal story about how dance can heal. I truly believe that this art form has the power to build resilience, a lesson from my Guru that I carry with me always.

My heart swells with pride seeing my students from Bharathadyuthi Arts Center perform at the 'Mukula Nrithyothsava'. This is what we work towards: sharing the joy of dance together on stage.

About this collection

Every performance and training session you see here is a result of years of rigorous Sadhana, or daily practice. My art is not just choreography but a devotional offering, shaped deeply by the techniques of the Thanjavur Bani style passed down by my Guru, Sri P. Praveen Kumar. When I perform, whether it is the high energy of a Trikala Jati or the subtle grace of Abhinaya, I aim to show the discipline that makes this dance form a spiritual practice.

At Bharathadyuthi Arts Center, we focus on the roots. Bharatanatyam is a complex language of rhythm and gesture. Beginners at my studio start with the basics of Aramandi and footwork to build the necessary stamina, while advanced students explore the nuances of Margam and improvisation.

My practice is never solo. I believe in the energy of live Carnatic music—Vocal, Nattuvangam, Mridangam, and Flute. This creates a synergy that a recorded track simply cannot match. This approach extends to my students as well; our annual Nruthya Manjari showcase and Rangabhivandane debuts are always performed with a live orchestra to ensure dancers understand the conversation between music and movement.

My journey has taught me that art heals. During my recovery from an accident in 2017, it was the rhythm of dance that brought me back to strength. If you are looking for classes in Naagarabhaavi, Bangalore, know that I teach with the same philosophy: rigorous training, respect for the tradition, and a lot of patience. Whether you are aiming for a professional stage debut or simply want to learn the discipline, my focus remains on individual growth and technical precision.
