Meet Yashashri and the Clay Explore Community
Welcome to my studio in Prabhadevi. I am Yashashri, and this space is where I teach, create, and share the slow, grounding art of pottery with our community.
Hello and welcome to Clay Explore! I'm Yashashri, the maker and teacher behind everything you see here. My studio was born from a love for the handmade, and I'm so happy to share this journey with you.
I am so glad to share that two of my works were selected for the "Manikarnika Women's Kala Award 2024" National Online Art Exhibition. It is an honor to have my ceramic sculptures recognized in this competition.
We were thrilled to have our studio be a part of the creation of the beautiful new song, "Ishq Mehfooz," by Shekhar Ravjiani. Here is a photo of our team with the artists during the shoot.
It was a pleasure to host singer Shekhar Ravjiani and actress Aleesha Arora at our studio for their music video. Here I am with them, surrounded by the ceramic pieces that fill our shelves.
Here is a shot of Shekhar Ravjiani with one of our talented team members during the music video shoot at Clay Explore. It was a wonderful collaboration and a memorable day for our studio.
Another great photo from the "Ishq Mehfooz" music video shoot at our studio. We are so proud to have provided the creative backdrop for this beautiful project.
About Meet the Artist & Our Community
My studio in Prabhadevi is not just a workspace; it is a collaborative hub. From hosting professional shoots for artists like Shekhar Ravjiani to helping absolute beginners center their first lump of clay, I keep the doors open for anyone who wants to experience the grounding rhythm of handmade pottery.
Building Clay Explore has been a journey of finding balance between the technical precision of ceramics and the creative flow of teaching. My studio is located in the heart of Prabhadevi, right opposite the Siddhivinayak Temple, serving as a sanctuary where we practice the slow art of pottery.
I believe in the power of 'Maati Putr'—being crafted by the Earth. This philosophy guides every workshop I host, whether it is a two-hour trial session or a month-long intensive course. It is not just about making a bowl; it is about the quiet process of wedging, shaping, and firing that reconnects us to the present moment.
My work extends beyond the studio walls. Recently, my ceramic sculptures were recognized at the Manikarnika Women's Kala Award 2024, an honor that validates the hours spent perfecting glazes and forms. I also love when the studio becomes a backdrop for others' creativity, like when we hosted the production team for Shekhar Ravjiani’s song 'Ishq Mehfooz'.
If you are looking to start your own pottery journey, you do not need prior experience. You just need curiosity. My classes are structured to give you hands-on guidance, starting from the basics of centering on the wheel to the final glaze firing. I invite you to step into the studio, get your hands dirty, and see how a simple lump of clay becomes a piece of art for your home.
