Yoga Philosophy & Practice
Yoga is a path of connecting the self with the universal, where slowing down allows us to grow. Here is a glimpse into my personal practice and the philosophy I share with my students.
Namaste. I believe yoga is a journey we take together. In this video, I share my intention to guide you through 100 asanas, making the practice accessible for everyone.
An invitation to join me on a 100-asana journey. My goal is to help you start your path to wellness, one day and one asana at a time.
A glimpse into my personal practice, exploring variations in Sirsasana (headstand). Inversions change our perspective, both physically and mentally, and build focus and strength.
Music and meditation are deeply connected. Playing the sitar is another form of my practice, a way to find rhythm, focus, and connect with my inner self.
Spirituality for me is treating every living being with the same love and care. This pose, Hasta Uttanasana, in a public square is a reminder to keep my heart open to the world.
The Shiva Mudra, a hand gesture that integrates the masculine and feminine energies within us. My practice is about finding this balance, transforming darkness into light.
My teacher taught me that to overtake, you must first slow down. This headstand variation against a vibrant mural reminds me that even in stillness, there is power and progress.
Yoga is the addition of the individual self to the universal self. This joyful jump is an expression of that connection and the boundless energy that comes from the practice.
A playful moment of balance. Yoga isn't always serious; it's also about finding joy and lightness in movement. Consistency is the key to making progress.
Yoga Abhyasa, or dedicated practice, helps bring discipline into our lives. This simple gesture is an invitation to join me on the mat and cultivate your own practice.
About My Yoga Journey & Philosophy
You don't need to be naturally flexible to start practicing with me. My method focuses on alignment and steady progress, so whether you are a beginner or looking to deepen your existing practice, we move at a pace that respects your body's current capabilities.
At Sri Subhadra Yoga Shala, I believe 'Abhyas'—or consistent practice—is the foundation of everything we do. My journey as a teacher is built on the simple philosophy that we must pause before we try to overtake. Whether we are working on Surya Namaskar, alignment-heavy asanas, or guided Yoga Nidra, the goal is always to treat the body with care.
I keep my studio batches small and intentional, allowing for manual posture corrections and personal guidance. We do not just 'do' yoga; we learn the mechanics of each pose to prevent injury and build longevity. If you have struggled with consistency before, my approach aims to make yoga a sustainable, joyful part of your daily routine rather than a task you need to check off.
