The wall is your best friend when learning splits. This video shows an easy and effective way to use the wall to safely guide your body into a full side split, using gravity to your advantage.

This video demonstrates a dynamic entry into Samakonasana, the side split. We work on drills like this to build both the flexibility and the strength needed to control the movement into the full pose.

About Unlocking Splits & Hip Flexibility

Most people try to force their way into a split and end up with a strain. In my classes, I focus on active flexibility where we use the wall for support and engage specific muscles to guide the legs open. If you have tight hamstrings or stiffness in the hips, we start by fixing your lunge form before attempting any full splits.
